Home of Minnesota Twins Owner Jim Pohlad Robbed
The Minnesota Twins are fighting for their playoff lives, and they are losing. Nobody is more to blame for their collapse than the Pohlad ownership group, which is now publicly headed by Joe Pohlad. But before Joe, it was his uncle Jim Pohlad, who acted as the public facing arm of the family for multiple decades.
On Wednesday, the Star Tribune is reporting that Jim’s house was recently robbed. The alleged crime is believed to be one in a string of robberies that have taken place around upper-class Twin Cities neighborhoods, in recent months.
Most notably, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley’s house was hit a couple of weeks ago, At the time of the robbery, Mike was blowing the Gjallarhorn at U.S. Bank Stadium, before the week two Minnesota Vikings vs San Francisco 49ers game.
Minnesota Twins owner Jim Pohlad’s house robbed
According to police reports, there are 60-plus similar robberies in the Twin Cities area, that are currently being investigated. All of them seem to lead back to the same suspects. Former Wolves PG Troy Hudson also fell victim to one of these break-ins.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the police have a lot to go on, so far. There is one vehicle that has been spotted in many of the locations. Other suspicious happenings have been reported in these areas, around the time of the crimes.
The disclosure came in a search warrant affidavit filed in Hennepin County District Court by Orono police seeking a judge’s permission to seize data from a rental car company. Investigators have keyed in on a specific vehicle that has been detected in Minnetonka, Orono, Medina, Edina, Minnetrista, Minneapolis, Eagan and other cities, hoping it will lead to the perpetrators.
Paul Walsh – Star Tribune
Paul Walsh (Star Tribune) spoke with Jim Pohlad, who told him that someone was flying a drone around their yard recently, prior to his house being invaded. Properties are carefully scoped out by the suspects, beforehand. The break-ins, overall, appear to be heavily pre-planned, not to mention successful. Over 60 homes, without a whiff of evidence? I don’t know whether to be disgusted or impressed…
Calculated thievery
Apparently, the company providing the Pohlads with their security system even watched their robbery in real time. It happened around this time, last year (October 9, 2023). Unfortunately, there’s nothing authorities could do from behind a security camera. According to the previous report, involving Mike Conley, the robbers are in and out of these houses in five minutes, long before police arrive.
Security company personnel reported seeing the break-in unfolding on a live video feed in real time, the police records note. The suspect, wearing gloves and a mask, was gone by the time officers arrived, but not before men’s and women’s jewelry was stolen, the records continued.
“Affluent neighborhoods are being targeted by one or more organized groups,” the notice read. “It is believed the suspects are not choosing houses at random and are watching them carefully prior to burglarizing them. The suspects are stealing jewelry, safes and high-end merchandise.”

We’ll see if these robberies continue, now that they have become more public. One thing is for sure. Authorities currently investigating this case do not have the type of lead that they expect to solve anything, which is why they are bringing all of this information public.
