Twins get back on track @ Toronto in 1st of 3 game series:

The Twins put themselves in a tougher spot than needed when they lost 3 of 5 games in Chicago this week. However, they were able to get game 1 of 3 in Toronto on Friday night. It was a much-needed win. Here is how it went down:

The scoring started in the 3rd inning. With Dozier on 3rd, Buxton laid down a bunt perfectly toward the pitcher. Nobody was at 1st…

With Mauer and Buxton now on, and two outs in the inning, Polanco kept his hot streak alive:

Oh yeah, Mauer made this catch in the bottom of that inning:

Despite Mauer’s Gold Glove play, Toronto would homer and take one run back in the bottom of that same inning. It was 3-1 as the Twins went to bat in the top of the 4th. They would add one more that inning when Kepler hit a SAC Fly, scoring Garver. In the 5th, Escobar would do the same thing, driving in Mauer on a fly ball. The score was 5-1 going to the 6th inning.

Forward a couple of innings and Buxton was doing Buxton things in center field:

The guy is absolutely sensational. And now he can hit too… In-fact, he would drive in the Twins’ last run of the game with an RBI base-hit to left field in the 9th.

Through all of this, Bartolo Colon had another steady outing. The Twins needed him and he delivered. He bent but he didn’t break, giving up just 1 run on 9 hits in 6.2 innings.

The Twins are now 66-62 and sit a game up on the Angels for the 2nd Wild Card spot. Dillon Gee will get a chance to start tomorrow against Marco Estrada who is 5-8 with a 5.07 ERA.

NFL HOF snubs Jim Marshall again:

Another year, another HOF snub for Jim Marshall. The man who led a pack of Purple People Eaters to be one of the meanest defenses in the history of the NFL won’t get his gold jacket yet. He will have to wait at least another year.

The guy never missed a f****** game and had 127 sacks with 29 fumble recoveries. The guy belongs in the HOF. The NFL better figure its shit out. Here is the full story from Rana Cash of the StarTribune.
