Tre Jones commits to Duke:
Hopefully nobody got their hopes up too much, about Tre Jones coming to Minnesota. He did what every sane person thought he would. He followed in his brother’s footsteps and will attend Duke University next year.

That leaves one scholarship still remaining for 2018 and Richard Pitino’s Golden Gophers. You can see who they are looking at to fill that spot at 247Sports.
Twins get back on the winning track; beat Tigers 6-4 to take series:
Today was another interesting game for the Twins and Tigers. Brian Dozier started the game off with another lead-off home run, his 6th of the season.

The Twins would get another run in the 2nd off of a squeeze play by Byron Buxton, with Rosario scoring.
Sano homered in the 4th to make it a 4-0 game and it looked like the Twins might be on their way to an easy win. Of course, every Twins fan watching the game knew better than that.
The Tigers would get one back in the bottom of the 4th off a SAC Fly and then Gimenez forgot how to catch in the 4th, letting 4 balls get to the backstop. I believe they ended up only giving him two passed balls but that stat could definitely be debated. Sano also pulled his foot off 1st base in the same inning which added to the problems on defense that inning. In total, the Tigers would get 3 more and tie the game 4-4 heading to the 5th.

Things would quiet down for a while after that. Again, Molitor had to go to the bullpen early as his ace, Ervin Santana, struggled. He had to be replaced after just 5 innings. Today however, the bullpen would prove more than competent giving up 0 runs in 4 innings.
In the 8th, the Twins led off with 2 straight walks. Polanco would sacrifice himself to move the runners over for the trending Byron Buxton at the plate and a 4-4 game:
Adrianza was then able to hit a SAC Fly, scoring Gimenez. The score would finish there, at 6-4, with Hildenberger earning his first career MLB Save.
The Twins will now come home and get Monday off before Cleveland comes to town for a HUGE series at Target Field. They enter tomorrow, a day where Cleveland will play a make-up game vs. Boston, 4.5 games behind the Indians for first place in the Central. They are just a half game back in the Wild Card race.
Fleck still hasn’t found his starting QB:
We are now just 2.5 weeks away from game 1 for the Gopher Football Team. Yet, they haven’t decided on a starting quarterback. Fleck has cut it down to two candidates in Conor Rhoda and Demry Croft.
Fleck said they would like to make a decision soon but neither quarterback has jumped out and grabbed the starting job yet.
Randy Johnson tells us more:
