Retired MN Twins Returning to Organization

On Saturday, former Minnesota Twins reliever Ryan Pressly officially announced his retirement, after 13 years in the MLB. That was interesting news, alone, since Pressly spent nearly half of his big league career as a Twin.
But not only is the 37-year-old calling it quits as a player, but he is starting a new baseball career, and he’ll do it at the same place his playing career began. With the MN Twins. And Pressly isn’t the only one former player coming back, either.

According to Jon Heyman (NY Post), the Twins are also hiring Michael A. Taylor, who played outfield for Minnesota in 2023. For now, it is uncertain what role either recently retired Twin will have.
Ryan Pressly, who announced his retirement today, is going to work for the Twins. They also hired Michael A. Taylor, another recent retiree who should easily relate to current Twins. Pressly was one of the most clutch closers in recent times.

Ryan Pressly pitched a total of 13 seasons in the big leagues, the first six of which were in Minnesota. Between 2013-2018, Pressly pitched in 281 games (317 IP), posting a 3.75 ERA and 112 ERA+.
Before the trade deadline in 2018, the Twins dealt Pressly — a Texas native — to Houston, where he flourished. Pressly lasted seven seasons with the Astros, tossing 333 innings, collecting 111 saves and posting a 2.63 ERA, 151 ERA+. He also made two All-Star games and won a World Series.

Michael A. Taylor played just one season with the Minnesota Twins, and it was one of the best of his career. In 2023, Taylor slashed .220/.278/.442 (.720 OPS) and smacked a career high 21 home runs.
He also played a great center field, in place of Byron Buxton, who only played just 85 games that season. Taylor, 34 is from Illinois. He won a Gold Glove in 2021 with the Kansas City Royals.
