First Word on Byron Buxton MRI is Optimistic

The Minnesota Twins are in a heated playoff race. Byron Buxton hasn’t grinded through 120 games of a 162 game season just to drop out during the stretch run. If he can run and swing, he’s going to finish the 2022 baseball season.

But Buxton suffered a hip injury during Monday’s game that had Twins fans worried all over again. On Tuesday afternoon, though, Darren Wolfson (KSTP, SKOR North) brought us one word worth of optimism.

After this was tweeted, the Twins put Buxton on the 10-day injured list. But this note from Doogie tells us that the MRI Byron underwent today, came back with hopeful results.

Byron Buxton has proven throughout the course of this year, that while his body may be made of glass, there’s no doubting his mental toughness, work ethic and natural ability. How long will it take for Byron to hit the field again?

That question is yet to be answered. But if the MRI came back with good news, than it’s just a matter of pain management. Which we know Buck has become a master of.
