Alex Kirilloff is Raking at Triple-A

When Alex Kirilloff hit the injured list back on April 13, his batting average through five games with the Minnesota Twins was .059 (1-for-17). After an MRI revealed no further damage, he was given a cortisone shot and sent to Triple-A, St. Paul.

Clearly, the shot worked and his wrist is feeling better because, since being sent down, Kirilloff is crushing Triple-A pitchers.

He hit .343 in May and got better and more powerful as the month went on. Through five games in June, he’s hitting .471 with 4 HR, (3) 2B and 8 RBI with the Saints. Two of those homers came Sunday afternoon.

Jose Miranda’s been better at the plate for the Minnesota Twins, of late. Max Kepler will also return to the lineup on Tuesday. But a healthy and raking Alex Kirilloff cannot be left in the minors much longer. He’s just too good. Remember, Kirilloff plays both corner outfield positions and a very solid 1st base.
