This offseason has been a good time in Minnesota Timberwolves history. Not only did ownership transition out of the hands of Glen Taylor, but the heralded trees throwbacks have been brought back on court.

We have yet to see whether or not a Kevin Garnett reunion will materialize, but expectations should be that one is in the works. Another reunion was announced on Monday though, and Minnesota will again show love to The Purple One this season.

Prince alternates hit court for MN Timberwolves

Each season NBA teams hit the court with alternate uniforms for different games throughout the season. Not only will Anthony Edwards take the court in the black trees alternates, but they’ll have purple City Edition jerseys that pay homage to prince.

It’s not just the uniforms either. As is the case with the trees alternates, Minnesota will also a special court for Indigo Nights when they wear their Prince-themed uniform.

The hardwood features Prince’s “Love Symbol” at center court, and the purple accents will certainly help the uniforms to stand out as well. These threads are a throwback to the 2018-19 season when Minnesota first donned their Prince-themed alternates.

“Bringing this uniform back was an easy decision for our organization. This jersey is a celebration of who we are as a team, a city, and a culture. Prince was a huge Wolves and Lynx fan, and a symbol of excellence. We’re proud to honor his legacy in a way that brings fans together and lights up the season in purple.”

Minnesota kicks off their regular season on October 22 in Portland against the Trailblazers. Chris Finch is hoping to get his team over the hump and to their first NBA Finals after two straight trips to the Western Conference Finals.

Anthony Edwards unveils Timberwolves-themed AE2

It wasn’t just the Timberwolves that unveiled some new accessories on Monday. Anthony Edwards dropped his “With Love” colorway for the Adidas AE2 a while ago. The next iteration, and one to certainly be coveted, is the “Blue Burst” model that will release on October 25.

The “Blue Burst” model pairs extremely well with the Timberwolves main color scheme, and has a blue upper with black and green accents. After a wildly successful run with the AE1, it was imperative that Adidas got the follow up sneaker right.

So far reviews have been incredibly positive, and comfort has been taken up a notch as well. If this is the season in which Edwards can capture his first MVP, the silhouette could see additional fanfare as well.
