Alex Rodriguez Just Says No to Glen Taylor Hug Attempt
The Minnesota Timberwolves are now eliminated from the NBA Playoffs meaning reporters are sure to unload a laundry list of notebook items they have been holding onto while the Wolves were still vying for an NBA title.
We wrote earlier on Friday about a reported team boycott against the Inside the NBA broadcast on TNT. Another revelation from behind the scenes came in the form of the ongoing ownership dispute between Glen Taylor Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez.
Minnesota Timberwolves ownership battle: Alex Rodriguez ‘just says no’ to Glen Taylor bro hug
According to Jon Krawczynski and Shams Charania (The Athletic), minority owner Alex Rodriguez has been doing everything in his power to avoid the Wolves current majority owner, Glen Taylor. So much so that A-Rod even “rebuffed” one of Taylor’s attempted bro hug (with lots of people watching).
On multiple occasions earlier in these playoffs, Taylor tried to approach Lore and Rodriguez to greet them either before or during games, team and arena sources who witnessed the interactions told The Athletic. Taylor even tried to hug Rodriguez at one point, only to be rebuffed, team sources said.
Lore and Rodriguez remain deeply angered by Taylor’s decision to call off their agreement. When Taylor made the initial announcement, Lore said it was “like a nuclear bomb” went off. He and Rodriguez have vowed to fight for the team for as long as it takes, arguing that Taylor acted in bad faith by calling the deal off at the last minute.

You cannot blame Alex Rodriguez or Marc Lore for hating Glen Taylor’s guts. Remember, this is how Glen operates. To him, everything is business. To Glen, it shouldn’t matter that he went behind your back and slit you open with a dull knife while you weren’t looking, as long as it was during business hours.

Once the clock strikes five o’clock and everybody is done for the day, everybody should be friends. Unfortunately for Glen, most people do not operate in business arenas with that type of old-school ruthless mentality. That’s why he’s lost one time friendships with Kevin McHale, Kevin Garnett and now Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez.
