Timberwolves Players and Coaches Saying the Right Things Heading into Game 4
The Minnesota Timberwolves are facing a daunting challenge down 0-3 in the Western Conference finals. It’s a tough spot to be in, no doubt, but there’s a silver lining. Technically, the series is not over yet.
Remember, it’s not about who wins three games first, but who wins four. So while it may seem like an uphill battle, there’s still hope for the Timberwolves to turn things around and make a comeback. Even if it has never been done in before in NBA history…
Minnesota Timberwolves not done yet down 3-0 vs Dallas Mavericks
Wolves players and coaches are saying all the right things, too, making it clear through media that they won’t give the series to Dallas, lying down. Head coach Chris Finch and 6th Man of the Year Naz Reid appear determined to make this a series.
Chris Finch: “We still feel like it’s going to be a long series. We still feel Iike we have a lot of basketball left in us”

Naz Reid: “If anyone can win four straight in this scenario, I think it’s us”

Superstar Anthony Edward and 2nd Team All-Defense, Jaden McDaniels, had more of a ‘I can’t believe this even happened’ vibe. And Ant has a point. The Wolves are losing close games, even though KAT has played horrifically and they’ve struggled to stop the Mavericks when on defense.
Anthony Edwards was still in denial afterward, telling Mike Conley “I still don’t feel like they can beat us, bro. We haven’t all been clicking at one time.”

But the Mavs can, and very likely will. And experience, contrary to the Timberwolves’ opinion, will have played a pivotal…
Jaden McDaniels: "It was kind of hard to sleep. It didn’t feel real being down 3-0. It was kind of just hard to not think about it."

It seems that being down 0-3 has the Minnesota Timberwolves in their feelings a little bit. Hopefully, that serves as a wake-up call. They need something if they are going to achieve this seemingly impossible comeback.
Last season, the Timberwolves faced a strikingly similar scenario during the first round of the 2023 playoffs. They were trailing the Denver Nuggets 0-3, but managed to secure a win in game 4 before ultimately succumbing to a heart-wrenching 109-112 defeat in game 5.

Yet, this isn’t uncharted territory for them. They’ve navigated these waters before, and they possess the insight and determination needed to rise to the challenge once more.
If you want more hope, the Boston Celtics were on the verge of getting swept in last year’s Eastern Conference Finals, before rattling off three-straight to tie the series up… before ultimately losing in game 7.
