Lance Stephenson is Dominating G-League for Iowa Wolves
One of my all time NBA favorites, Lance Stephenson, recently signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves G League affiliate, the Iowa Wolves. Stephenson is a 10-year NBA veteran who’s made a solid basketball career as a 3 and D player best known for his ability to get under opponents’ skin. Or maybe… blowing on their skin, LeBron James’ ear to be exact.
At 33-years-old Lance has bounced around the NBA quite a bit, including a 6-game stop with the Timberwolves in 2017. His experience goes beyond the NBA, too. Stephenson has played some ball in Puerto Rico recently, and China in 2019-20.

But since being signed by the Wolves, Stephenson has been dominating G-League competition down in Iowa, giving himself a very legitimate chance of playing on an NBA roster by season’s end.
He’s played in seven games and only started four. In game one, he posted 11 PTS, 3 RBS and 1 AST (25 min), and only finds his groove more and more as he stacks games.

In his 4th game, a win over the G League Ignite, Stephenson completely took over. Literally a man against boys, and his 16 PTS, 16 RBS, 7 AST stat line shows it. Then, in his most recent game (7th with Iowa) Lance Stephenson dropped a triple double vs the Salt Lake City Stars: 21 PTS 10 RBS and 10 AST.

Get Lance Stephenson In A Timberwolves Uniform?
In the 2 minute clip of Lance Stephenson, you can see that boy man is hooping. Can you imagine the energy Lance Stephenson could bring to the Timberwolves locker room, even if he doesn’t play.
Although, I do believe he can be of use off the bench. I love Jordan McLaughlin, but did you see those highlights above? You can’t tell me Lance Stephenson couldn’t play a role on this team.
But really, the Timberwolves aren’t the only team “interviewing” Lance Stephenson for a possible job opportunity. Technically, he’s an NBA free agent and any team could ‘call him up’ and sign him to an NBA deal. And from what I’m seeing, it won’t be long before that happens.
