KAT has Historic Performance Wednesday and All He Wanted After was Some Guilt-Free Gaming

When discussing the Timberwolves recent loss to the woeful Grizzlies, PG Jeff Teague referred to the eight-point defeat as this season’s “worst loss.” For Teague and his teammates, another Target Center-hosted contest offered a shot at redemption. Minnesota, just like Mason Verger in Hannibal, desperately needed to gain some face:
While Wednesday’s contest vs. Atlanta was closer than one would have liked, Tom Thibodeau’s squad hopped back into the win column. I shouldn’t have referred to the Wolves as Thib’s team. When it came to the 126-114 victory over Atlanta, Karl-Anthony Towns ran the show.
A new @Timberwolves franchise record! 56 points!! Are you serious @KarlTowns?? That’s how you bounce back and answer the bell!

KAT’s 56 point destruction of the Hawks will go atop the almost-twenty-year-old franchise’ record books. Sorry, John Legend Mo Williams, but the 52 large ones you posted in 2015 now sits in second.
Btw, I know Mo Williams and I look similar. When I was at the game Sunday his teammates told me they call him John Legend

As for Towns, he finished the proverbial gold medal performance; 19-32 from the field, 6-8 from three and 12-for-15 from the stripe. In addition to all of the buckets, the 2015 draft’s first overall selection also secured 15 rebounds. For comparison purposes, ESPN looked to the one and only, Shaquille O’Neal:
With a Timberwolves record 56 points, Karl-Anthony Towns also grabbed 15 rebounds. He’s the youngest player with 50 points and 15 rebounds in a game since Shaquille O’Neal on April 20, 1994 vs the Timberwolves (O’Neal was 22 years, 45 days, Towns is 22 years, 133 days). pic.twitter.com/NCrSDiQSmG

If you also include his 4 assists and 1 block, not even the Big Aristotle can hang:
NBA players since 1983-1984 with at least 56 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 block in a regular season game: Kevin McHale, Michael Jordan, Anthony Davis, Karl Anthony-Towns. Towns is the youngest to do so (22 years, 133 days)

That’s absolutely absurd. While others are throwing more numbers at the performance than Rain Man playing Blackjack, KAT took to social media for just one request:
Soooooo @Kawahine_ can I play PUBG???
— Karl-Anthony Towns (@KarlTowns) March 29, 2018
He just wants to play some video games, but the decision laid with his gal…. On the heels of his historic performance, Ms. Andrade seemed happy to provide her blessing.
Remember KAT: MORE BIG PERFORMANCES = MORE NIGHTS OF GUILT-FREE GAMING
56 points you can do whatever you want baby! https://t.co/u2Xif6UIbF
