Karl-Anthony Towns to Compete in 3-Point Contest
Karl-Anthony Towns is already an all-star but it was announced on Tuesday night that he will also participate in the Mountain Dew 3-point competition the Saturday before (Feb 19). It will be his first time taking part in the 3-point contest but it’s not his first appearance on an NBA all-star Saturday. KAT had an impressive showing in the 2016 skills competition.

Towns has the 4th-best 3-point percentage on the season (Basketball-Reference), out of all eight contestants, but doesn’t shoot nearly as many shots from beyond the arc as the others. There’s a reason he’s the only big man participating. We’ll see if that matters in any way once the lights come on. It’ll be fun to watch KAT and LaVine, two best friends, compete against each other.
