How long KAT will be out is still unknown but it likely depends on the degree of the tear. Normally, even a minor meniscus tear requires some sort of procedure to shave the torn part of the meniscus off. If that is the case, recovery is much shorter and NBA players have a history of returning to play in as little as three to six weeks.
A more significant tear and/or surgery normally requires at least three months to recover, and as many as nine months. But according to Woj, the Wolves aren’t convinced yet that KAT will miss any time. Apparently, the Timberwolves are still trying to gather information on what exactly Karl can and cannot do.
ESPN Sources: Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns has suffered a left meniscus injury, but it remains unclear about how much, if any, time he’ll be required to miss. Towns and team are working to get full understanding of degree of injury and whether it demands immediate action.
