The Minnesota Timberwolves will play the back-half of a back-to-back on Wednesday night in Orlando, fresh off of a victory in Indiana Tuesday that clinched their spot in the 2026 NBA Playoff bracket.

And this morning, about 6.5 hours before they take the floor at Kia Center floor the Magic, the Wolves’ PR team put out some even bigger news.

Jaden McDaniels questionable to return Wednesday for MN Timberwolves

According to a new press release that dropped late Wednesday morning, injured two-way star Jaden McDaniels (left knee patella tendinopathy) has been cleared for 5-on-5 basketball activities and is questionable to return tonight in Orlando.

The 25-year-old wing hasn’t played since March 25, a 110-108 overtime win against the Houston Rockets in which McDanels went for 25 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks in over 36 minutes.

McDaniels, who has missed the last six games with left knee patella tendinopathy, has been cleared for full-contact, 5-on-5 basketball activities and will be listed as questionable for tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic.

Minnesota Timberwolves Press Release

While the possible return of Jaden McDaniels is very welcomed news for the Minnesota Timberwolves, the rest of today’s status report was not as easy on the eyes.

Lots of Timberwolves resting vs Magic

Now that Minnesota has clinched their spot in the Western Conference playoff bracket — thanks to their victory over the Pacers last night, combined with the Suns’ loss to the Rockets — a litany of key players will rest injuries that have likely been ailing them for some time now.

Anthony Edwards is out again, which isn’t a surprise. However, it is worth noting that his official explanation was changed recently to “right knee injury maintenance”, instead of “right patellofemoral pain syndrome (runner’s knee).”

While the Wolves feel good about Ant’s playing status for the postseason, there are legitimate questions surrounding how close to 100% he will actually be.

Meanwhile, Mike Conley has a “rest” designation tonight in Orlando. Ayo Dosunmu (Right Calf Maintenance) and Julius Randle (Right hand soreness) will sit this one out, as well.
