Gopher Football Lose to Purdue – Need a Change at QB:
The Gophers should have had this game in their pocket, going to the locker room at half time. The defense forced 4 turnovers in the first half but they didn’t result in very many points. Even though Shannon Brooks and Rodney smith combined for 145 yards in the 1st half, the Gophers could only muster 14 points. Here are some highlights.
Here is the first touchdown for the Gophers. Who else but Tyler Johnson?

Wild @ Carolina Hurricanes:
Wild lose in a shootout with Carolina, 5 to 4. They probably never should have gotten to that point… (see below)
After the extra-time, Koivu went with his patented shootout move (with a little different look), but it didn’t work this time. The Wild brought their physical game today, but lacked in shot attempts and possession. Zucker, Koivu, Staal stood out, along with a solid performance by Stalock.
Staal has to be one of Fletcher’s best signings ever. The Wild need Parise and Granlund healthy, with the Blackhawks on the calendar, for early season Central Division matchup 10/12 at 7:30pm @ Chicago.
Here are some of the Wild highlights from Saturday’s shootout loss.

The Timberwolves will start their season on October 18th vs the San Antonio Spurs. Until then, the most exciting action will be early Sunday morning from the other side of the planet… unless you are Kyrie Irving…
