Vikings Lose to Lions and Likely Lose Dalvin Cook for Season:
The Case Keenum honeymoon came to an end today. He came back down to earth, going 16/30 for 219 yards. He didn’t throw any interceptions but he didn’t throw any touchdowns either. He definitely missed some though. With that said, I would definitely agree with Andy Carlson on this one and say that Keenum was definitely good enough for the Vikings to win.
Case Keenum was good enough for the #Vikings to win today. Not perfect, but good enough. People will lose sight of that though.

The Vikings’ defense was good enough for the team to win too. They consistently stopped Stafford on Sunday, especially when he had to drive the whole field. One of the best QB’s in the league went just 19/31 for 209 yards. Ameer Abdullah gave them a much harder time. He had 20 carries for 94 yards and a TD.
So why did the Vikings lose? Fumbles and Inconsistency.
The Vikings fumbled the ball 3 times and lost all 3 of them. 2 of them were extremely costly. Thielen’s fumble, at the end of the game, put the Vikings in their coffin and Dalvin Cook fumbled right after his knee gave out, which we later found out is likely an ACL tear.
Fumbles were costly but it wasn’t just that. The Vikings couldn’t maintain a drive. They didn’t seem like they had a lot of troubles moving the ball. But, after a couple of first downs, there would be a big sack or fumble. Something to screw it up.
Dalvin Cook’s knee injury is the worst thing to come out of this game. It was non-contact and my heart sank immediately when I saw it. He walked off but reports coming out say the Vikings believe it to be a complete ACL tear. Official word will come Monday after an MRI.
FINAL: Lions WIN 14-7
Twins WIN and Will Now Turn to One-Game Playoff With Yankees:
The Twins are heading to the playoffs. They played their last regular season game on Sunday and beat the Tigers 5-1. Gimenez and Castro both had homers. Mauer drove one in with a double in the 1st inning.

Bartolo Colon came out and showed people he isn’t ready to hang up his glove yet. He went 6.1 innings, giving up just 1 run. Now, he will wait to see if he will make the playoff roster.
The Twins are off to New York for the state’s most important baseball game in over 5 years. They will be the underdog but in a one-game playoff, anything can happen.

Gopher Football’s Freshman WR Demetrius Douglas Out for Season:
Demetrius Douglas is a true Freshman that the coaching staff is really excited about. Fleck flipped Douglas from Oregon and his future is bright. Unfortunately, it will have to wait.
Douglas will miss the rest of the 2017 season with an undisclosed injury. He had 11 catches for 83 yards on the season. The Gophers are trying to obtain a medical redshirt.

Timberwolves Off to China for Preseason Game:
On October 5th at 1 AM, the Timberwolves will be playing the Oakland Warriors. (I call them by their actual city/state… like every other team that plays professional sports. It’s not the “Twin Cities Timberwolves”. So stupid. Anyway…) It will be played at 1 AM because it is in China. They are taking part in a new drive to push NBA to more of a national audience. It is good to see the NBA want the Timberwolves to partake in games like this.
#Twolves will take off on 19-hr flight to Shenzhen, China immediately after tonight’s game. Will stop in Anchorage, Alaska for fuel.
