PJ Fleck, Gophers Flip Monster DL Torin Pettaway Originally Committed to Wisconsin
The Minnesota Gophers have ended an incredibly busy day in Minnesota Sports with a bang, flipping massive 2025 3-star defensive lineman Torin Pettaway over the border.
Not only was the 6’5″, 265 lb Pettaway committed to Wisconsin, but he’s from Middleton, WI. He has to go back to school on Friday… but at that size, I don’t think any of his classmates will give him too many problems.

Torin decommitted from Wisconsin minutes before announcing his commitment to Minnesota, where he currently stands as the 2nd commitment of PJ Fleck’s 2025 class, a class that is still young; which means these kids’ star ratings should be taken with a big grain of salt.
What should be taken more seriously, at this stage of the recruiting process, is the offer list… and this kid has an impressive one. We already mentioned that he’s flipping from the University of Wisconsin, but his offer list also includes Illinois, Nebraska, Rutgers, along with soon to be minted Big Ten schools, USC and Washington.
New Minnesota Gophers commit Torin Pettaway is a monster…
Look, I’ve joked before about how illegal it should be for some of these freak D1-caliber athletes to play football against regular children, but watching this dude play against high-schoolers is legitimately terrifying.

He is so much bigger, faster, stronger and more athletic than everyone on the other team that every single play is an injury waiting to happen. I mean, this is more than a full-grown man.
