The Minnesota Gophers football team is hosting their annual “Summer Splash” recruiting event this weekend, where they host a couple dozen recruits on campus at the same time, and make the entire weekend a showcase for why a high school kid would want to go to school at the University of Minnesota and play football for PJ Fleck and the Gophers.

The festivities include players who are already committed, along with all of Minnesota’s top targets who have yet to make a decision. Per usual, the weekend has been littered with commitments. The first came on Friday, prior to the recruiting party even getting started.

On Sunday morning, Fleck added more commits. One of them, Bradley Martino (GA), falls in as the highest-rated recruit in Minnesota’s 2025 class, so far, behind only 247Sports 89-overall QB Jackson Kollack.

Bradley Martino is officially listed as an athlete and holds D1 talent as a cornerback. According to Ryan Burns (247Sports), however, the Gophers plan for him to play wide receiver.

Martino is a big get for Fleck & Co. He had earned his first rating at 247Sports back in March, entering the database as a 3-Star 86 overall, far lower than what he was ranked at On3 (4-star, 90 overall).

Just before this weekend, however, Bradley Martino was bumped up to an 88 overall rating in the 247Sports database, which allowed his composite rating (combination of all recruiting services) to reach a 4-star (.8903).

Per Burns, Minnesota offensive coordinators Matt Simon and Greg Harbaugh put in a lot of work behind the scenes to land Bradley Martino, a recent decommit at Toledo who had visits scheduled to Mississippi State and Michigan State, after this weekend’s Summer Splash celebration in Dinkytown.

What is Minnesota Gophers 2025 recruiting class getting in Bradley Martino?

Martino is a tall, lankey receiver who can go up and get the football. With veteran Gopher wide outs like Elijah Spencer and Daniel Jackson entering their final seasons of eligibility, he’s the exact type of receiver Fleck needs to add to this recruiting class.

It is unknown whether or not he will still make those visits. Bradley also holds offers from Louisville, NC State and Pitt, among a host of others from non-power universities. A quick look at his HUDL tape confirms why he is getting so much love on the recruiting trail, recently.

Martino’s junior season stats last year at Golden Gate high school in Naples, FL weren’t prolific, from a receptions standpoint. He doesn’t stand out as a speedster and he needs to add weight/muscle during his senior year, and as a freshman if/when he makes it to campus. But there’s certainly a lot of talent here.

In 12 games, Martino put up 455 yards and 10 touchdowns. Sure, the yardage is low but that’s a lot of touchdowns, no matter the number of opportunities. When you realize that he only had 21 receptions on the season, 10 tuddies and 455 yards isn’t just impressive… it’s insane.
