Gopher Offensive Tackle Donnell Greene to Skip Bowl Game after Signing with Agent
In some interesting Gopher Football news earlier today, Gopher Offensive Tackle Donnell Greene hired a professional agent and will start to prepare for the NFL Draft, meaning he will forfeit his opportunity to play in the Quick Lane Bowl at Ford Field on December 26th.
The 6’7”-320 lbs Marietta, GA native has dealt with some injury issues this season so this makes sense. Don’t get mad Gopher fans. If you had that much money on the line, you’d have a hard time risking your health to win a meaningless game in Detroit, Michigan.
Greene played a total of 36 games over his career with the Gophers which spanned all the way to the Redshirt Senior season he played in this year. According to his draft profile at Rotoworld.com, Donnell projects as a late-round pick if does go. Otherwise, he’ll be a camp-invite guy. Last summer, they had one draft analyst who projected Greene as either a Guard or Tackle at the next level.
We’ll see…
