Gopher Football Lands Commitment from Another Fast-Rising Georgia Wide Receiver

PJ Fleck and Gopher football continued their quarantined run of recruits late this morning with another WR commit out of Georgia. Lemeke Brockington, according to GopherIllustrated.com, is one of the fastest-rising recruits in the nation.

Going into his junior season, Brockington had just one legitimate D1 offer and it was from Charlotte… Now, his offers touch some of the most historic and well-known programs in the country, including Miami (FL) and Tennessee.

Minnesota continues to do a really good job of identifying receivers with athletic traits. Brockington is a playmaker who has played outside and in the slot in high school and I think can similarly do either in college.

That’s an impressive list of offers and they have all rolled in over the past year…. Whenever 247Sports.com is able to update 2021 rankings again…. if ever, it’ll be interesting to see if the stars catch up with the offer list.

According to 247Sports, Lemeke is the 8th commit for a Gophers’ 2021 class that ranks #17 nationally and #8 in a Big Ten that has been dominating the recruiting world of late. Of the teams ahead of them, Michigan and Penn State are the only schools with less than 8 commits, so far.

The Big Ten continues to build the deepest conference in the country. The deeper and better the the conference gets and the more talent it brings into its coaching ranks, the better for us.

The future of Gopher football doesn’t rely on the commitment of any one recruit… it relies on the commitment of PJ Fleck. The better the Big Ten gets, the more sense it makes for PJ to stay and build Minnesota into a power team, inside the most powerful conference.

Here is some tape on Brockington:
