LIGHT UP THE BAT SIGNAL AND GET PAT MCAFEE! SHIT JUST GOT REAL AT THE #TWINCITIESTAKEOVER!

Fleck & Co. just received a commitment from Rashad Cheney, who was previously committed to both Alabama and Georgia at different times, according to 247Sports.

For Minnesota, he immediately becomes the highest rated recruit of their 2019 class.

This is now the second year in a row where Fleck has done that. Last year, at this same recruiting weekend, PJ landed both Daniel Faalele and Curtis Dunlap. They were both slotted in at the top of the ratings list.

Cheney had offers from everywhere including Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Florida, among many others. This is a huge get for Fleck and the weekend is only halfway through.

Tape:

The first commitment in the boat for the weekend was JUCO Cornerback Damarion Williams earlier today. He doesn’t have the status that Cheney does but he makes a very young secondary much more experienced.

Williams is one of three JUCO corners that are in town (wrote about them and other visitors here) this weekend for the #TwinCitiesTakeover. Now that he is in the boat, I wonder if the other two guys still have their offers on the table… There aren’t very many spots left and I don’t think Fleck came into the weekend looking to land two DB JUCO transfers, but that’s just me thinking again…

The Georgia native held offers to UNLV, Washington State, and Boise State, among others and Fleck is hoping he will be able to make an impact on his secondary immediately. Damarion played two years at Highland Community College, where he was tied for the lead nationally last season in interceptions. He will have two years of eligibility left with the Gophers.

Tape:

I would expect a lot more action before the weekend is over. We should be hearing about more commits by mid-day Sunday. So, keep that in mind while you are riding out round 1 of your fantasy football playoffs. Per usual, we’ll be here when something goes down.
