Electric 2022 Homegrown WR Commits to Fleck, Gophers on Spot
Kristen Hoskins is an undersized 2022 slot receiver out of Alexandria, MN. Between the pandemic and playing small school Minnesota football, he’s been a bit overlooked through his Junior season. But his fortunes have improved recently, thanks to the turning of the recruiting calendar away from 2021.
A 247Sports analyst Andrew Ivins saw Hoskins at a camp recently in Florida. He said Minnesota kids are rarely invited to such camps, but he impressed everyone there. Kristen was reportedly running 4.5 40-yd times at that camp and proved to be one of the best slot receivers there during 7-v-7 drills.
“It’s rare to see a wide receiver from Minnesota at a notable 7-on-7 tournament, but three-star Kristen Hoskins did a good job representing the North Star State. The Alexandria Area standout was one of the better slot receivers Tuesday and was able to consistently pick up chunks of yardage after the catch. Hoskins holds just one FBS offer to date and that’s from Iowa State. He went 11.04 in the 100-meter dash last spring.”

Color PJ Fleck and the Minnesota Gophers impressed. Today, they offered the 2022 homegrown prospect a scholarship to stick around for a few more years. Hoskins, according to Ryan Burns of 247Sports, jumped in the boat and grabbed his oar immediately, before it could even leave his virtual house.
Kristen becomes the second commitment for Minnesota’s 2022 class.

I can confirm the #Gophers have offered and received an immediate commitment from 2022 @alexcardsfb WR Kristen Hoskins over Iowa State and NDSU.

Here's what you need to know about the electric playmaker from Western Minnesota. https://t.co/GogaCz7sBf pic.twitter.com/KwkPth7sUP
Rowing the boat early
Minnesota was one of the first power-5 schools to offer Hoskins and he was obviously waiting for it. He chose the Gophers over Iowa State and NDSU. Hopefully, Hoskins’ loyalty remains defiant when other (bigger) schools come after him. If he’s as good as we are all hoping he is… then they will undoubtedly come calling. They always do.
