Gophers Dawson Garcia Will Miss at Least One Game with Injury
The Minnesota Gophers got their first Big Ten win of the season on Wednesday night in a huge 2nd half comeback vs the Nebraska Cornhuskers, a game they played mostly without their best player, leading scorer and leading rebounder, Dawson Garcia.
Dawson Garcia to miss at least one game with ankle sprain
Garcia, a Prior Lake, MN native suffered a sprained ankle early in the first half. Ben Johnson confirmed on Friday that Dawson will, at the least, miss the Gophers’ next game vs Florida Gulf Coast. His timeline to return after that is unknown.

Fortunately, it’s only been diagnosed as an ankle sprain and not a high ankle sprain, which should lend to Garcia returning sooner, rather than later.
News: #Gophers coach Ben Johnson said Friday star forward Dawson Garcia is OUT vs. Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday.

Context: It's not a high-ankle sprain. A less-frequent and lighter schedule will give Garcia some time to heal. The Big Ten schedule restarts in early January.
On the season, Dawson Garcia is averaging 18.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. He ranks top ten in the Big Ten in points (7th), rebounds (10th), field goal % (10th) and free throw % (10th).
