Minnesota Wild Recall Top Prospect Liam Ohgren
The Minnesota Wild are calling up 20-year-old top prospect, Liam Ohgren (Sweden), from AHL Iowa. Ohgren played three games with the Iowa Wild last week. He arrived in the United States at the start of April, after playing in the top Swedish league for the bulk of his 2023-24 hockey season, which finished at the end of March. The Wild play in Las Vegas on Friday, when he’s expected (probably) to make his NHL debut.

Minnesota Wild call up top prospect Liam Ohgren
According to The Athletic, Ohgren is the No. 34 prospect in the NHL and No. 2 overall prospect in the Wild system. In Sweden, Liam posted 19 points (12 goals, 7 assists) in 26 games. Since arriving in America, he’s been held scoreless (0 goals, 0 assists in 3 games).
Ohgren was drafted by the Wild with the 2022 first round pick that they received when they traded Kevin Fiala to the LA Kings. If Minnesota were to hit on Ohgren, and Brock Faber continues his path toward being one of the best defenseman in the NHL, that trade could wind up being one of the best in franchise history.
