The Time Has Come: Twins vs Yankees – Miracle on 161st Street?
(I am currently working on this Twins preview. Until then, enjoy these great pieces from our great local writers):
I want Miguel Sano as the DH in this game… not likely.
Prove me wrong Robbie. @MikeBerardino https://t.co/GV1AMesinh

I LOVE Ervin Santana. When told of his 0-5 record @ Yankee Stadium:

Love this piece from @MikeBerardino. Coaches need to conform to players. NOT the other way around. https://t.co/l3obM0W6pw

MRI Confirms Dalvin Cook Has Torn ACL:
There wasn’t much hope left for a miracle diagnosis and all reports coming from Vikings’ camp were discouraging after Sunday’s game. Any hopes of Dalvin Cook’s knee injury looking worse than it actually was, were slashed, when earlier speculation turned into fact. Dalvin Cook indeed suffered a torn ACL in his ugly collapse on the US Bank turf, Sunday.
We just can’t have nice things in Minnesota.
Dalvin Cook is a game breaker, and every time he touched the ball, he looked like he was gaining confidence. It felt like a matter of time before he would break his first big one. He still will. We will just have to wait another year. And the season isn’t over yet, Viking fans. We still have a VERY capable defense and the leading WR tandem in the NFL in Diggs and Thielen. If the line can continue to hold up, and Bradford can come back healthy, this is a dangerous team.
Updated Dalvin Cook torn ACL story with some quotes from #Vikings Mike Zimmer. Look for more updates during the day. https://t.co/eF7R6Z5pWS

Luke Kunin Sent to Iowa Wild; Parise to Miss First Two Games:
The Wild are going to play it safe with both Zach Parise and Luke Kunin. The Wild will hold Parise out for the first two games of the season because of his nagging back injury. They will send Kunin down to the AHL as he kicks off his professional career.
Get Parise as healthy as possible. His back is probably going to be a problem forever. Take the time needed in the beginning of the season and hope he is healthy-ish come the post-season. Kunin needs playing time. He isn’t going to get enough of it in St. Paul. I suspect Kunin proved he can play in the NHL but making sure he was getting the ice-time he needs took precedent. That is the right move.

Timberwolves Land in China and Thibs is ALL Business:
This year has a different feel than years past. The Wolves had their first practice in China while we were all sleeping. They are probably practicing right now, being it is about 11 AM China time. Shortly after the Wolves landed, Thibs had them at practice. It probably wasn’t a hard practice, just like Jerry Zgoda talks about in this piece for the Star Tribune. My old friend, Kyle Ratke, is with the team and passing sound-bites to local writers like Jerry, who didn’t make the trip. Follow them both on Twitter.
It’s 4 a.m. in China, but it’s prime blog time from first practice there, from audio by the generous @Kyle_Ratke https://t.co/m5eiAk5bIQ
