Yes, we still have to deal with the Pohlads pulling the purse strings this offseason. However, the team gets a fresh slate next year.

We were recently told that Minnesota will play host to the Philadelphia Phillies for the Field of Dreams game down in Dyersville, Iowa. Now we know what the rest of the schedule looks like as well.

Breaking down the 2026 MN Twins schedule

The Minnesota Twins open their 2026 regular season on the road. They’ll take on the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards on March 26th. They last started their season in Baltimore during the 2018 campaign. A March 26th start date is also one day earlier than that of the 2025 season. The Yankees host San Francisco on March 25th, making it the earliest domestic Opening Day in Major League Baseball history.

Minnesota’s initial road trip lasts eight days and six games. They’ll be the road opponent for Kansas City’s Opening Day as well. The Royals start their season with a three-game series in Atlanta.

Every major league team plays one another at this point, but the destinations switch yearly. This season the Minnesota Twins National League opponents coming to Target Field include Cincinnati (April 17-19), Miami (May 12-14), Milwaukee (May 15-17), St. Louis (June 12-14), Los Angeles (June 22-24), Colorado (June 26-28), and Philadelphia (August 14-16).

One of the Phillies games will be played at the Field of Dreams stadium in Dyersville, Iowa. A best guess would be Sunday Night Baseball on August 16th. However, The Athletic’s Dan Hayes notes that MLB has set a precedent for how they could handle the contest.

The Twins will host likely AL Central winning Detroit early on next season (April 6-9). The month of may includes 12 games against likely bottom feeders in the form of Washington, the Marlins, White Sox, and Pirates.

Major League Baseball’s All-Star Break, ticketed for Philadelphia, will take place from July 13-16. The Twins season concludes with a game against the Texas Rangers on September 27th.

Of course seeing the Dodgers, and Shohei Ohtani, at Target Field should make for big ticket sales in June. Intriguing road trips for fans to make include series against Pittsburgh (May 29-30), Arizona (June 19-21), and San Diego (August 21-23).

Hopefully the franchise can work on turning a corner over the offseason and the 2026 Minnesota Twins season is much more fruitful than the current iteration.

Timberwolves Crush the Competition with Schedule Reveal Video https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-timberwolves/schedule-reveal-asmr-hydraulic-press/ Thu, 14 Aug 2025 20:33:27 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=66622 With new owners Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore atop the franchise, this Minnesota Timberwolves season ushers in a new era. Gone is Glen Taylor, and here to stay are Naz Reid and Julius Randle. Anthony Edwards is determined to get his teammates beyond the Western Conference Finals, and this could be the year.

There is plenty of buzz surrounding Chris Finch’s roster, though it does need some finishing touches added. We’ll see how much heavy lifting Tim Connelly does prior to the start of the regular season, but that is quickly approaching.

On Thursday the NBA released schedules across the league. Minnesota tips off on Wednesday October 22 in Portland against the Trailblazers. Hope you’re ready to stay up late early.

ASMR fun for MN Timberwolves in schedule reveal

As has become customary for professional sports teams, schedule releases are just part of the marketing production. It isn’t just about putting the opponents on paper. The entire goal is to be catchy and flashy. It appears the Minnesota Timberwolves got the message.

The hydraulic press ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) videos have been enjoyable for quite some time. Minnesota incorporated the concept into the way in which their opponents for the 2025-26 season were announced.

Portland’s roses kicked off the fun with some barbecue to highlight the time spent facing Memphis. The goo from the Magic 8 Ball (Orlando) and crushed philly cheesesteaks (76ers) are really what these videos are all about. The apple execution (Knicks) could have been better, but there was still probably the ability to complete the juicing process.

I wish we’d have seen the full pressure for the deck of cards (Nuggets) to truly explode, but that was only an appetizer. Among those matchups, one with Denver is scheduled for Christmas Day. The Dallas Cowboys helmet (Lakers) being crushed couldn’t be more comical. Somewhere I’m sure a New York Yankees cap was a consideration as well.

The rocket lego set (Rockets) really didn’t hold up, but breaking through them that easily this year would be nice to see after Kevin Durant chose to go there anyways. It’s kind of insulting that the equivalent of a Fun Dog was used over beef frankfurter Chicago Dog (Bulls) but the former tastes better anyways.

Count the churros as a miss for me (Spurs), but the Lucky Charms (Celtics) were a good use of food product. The orange juicing process (Hawks) was better than the apples, but it was just a single offering of the fruit. I expected a bit more aftermath from the Ghiradelli chocolate (Warriors) but the packaging may have kept things contained.

Crushing Degrassi, and Drake (Raptors) was a great touch. He probably felt a tinge with the Cowboys helmet as well, because the rappers allegiance is always changing and riding high. Minnesota ended the video perfectly as well.

“Congratulations! But it’s a new season, see you soon…” was the message written in a card crushed to represent NBA Champions Oklahoma City. Minnesota was bounced by the Thunder last season and will be looking to exact revenge.

Official 2025 Minnesota Vikings Schedule + Release Video https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-vikings/2025-regular-season-schedule-official-release-video/ Thu, 15 May 2025 00:03:11 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=63159 There is rarely a dull moment during the Minnesota Vikings offseason these days. That was again the case Wednesday night, when the official 2025 MN Vikings schedule dropped as scheduled, at 7:00 PM CDT, revealing a new regular season slate that had already leaked long before it became official tonight.

Prior to today’s official release, news broke that the Vikings will become the first NFL team to ever play back-to-back international games in a season. Then this morning, we even found out that they’ll be hanging out on Netflix for us Christmas Day, too.

Official 2025 Minnesota Vikings schedule + release video

Last season, the Minnesota Vikings hosted nine home games, although one took place in London against the New York Jets. This season, they will play eight home games, all of which will take place at U.S. Bank Stadium. Their nine road games include neutral site contests at Croke Park (Dublin, Ireland) and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (London, United Kingdom).

The new look Vikings also have a whopping seven nationally televised games on the schedule. That’s clearly a reflection of a team that won 14 games last year. But without further ado, here’s the Minnesota Vikings schedule release video you’ve all been waiting for… along with the full official 2025 MN Vikings schedule directly below.

Notables on the 2025 Vikings schedule

The Minnesota Vikings 2025 NFL regular season schedule has plenty of intrigue. Two primetime games to start the year, then two straight games overseas, all in the first five weeks. Then, they get another early bye. One of their late-season road games (week 13) will be in Seattle against last year’s starter, Sam Darnold.

The second-half features six Vikings home games in the final ten weeks. NFC North tilts against the Lions and Packers to close the season could have massive playoff implications. Both contests will be played at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Related: Minnesota Vikings Land Stream-Only Christmas Day Game

If the Vikings can win four of their six division games, stay undefeated internationally, then beat teams they should, like Atlanta, Seattle, LAC and NYC… that’s already 10 wins for the good guys, with seven more to pick through. Baltimore and Philadelphia are tough opponents, but both have to come to U.S. Bank Stadium.

Improving on a 14-3 record isn’t the expectation, but overall, there’s no reason why the 2025 Minnesota Vikings can’t be better and play deeper into the postseason than the 2024 squad.

2025 Minnesota Gophers Football Schedule Released + Early Record Prediction https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/gophers-football/gophers-football-news/2025-schedule-released-record-projection/ Wed, 11 Dec 2024 20:50:21 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=58121 It’s not quite the offseason for the Minnesota Gophers football team. They have seem some players announce their intentions for 2025, but first P.J. Fleck must wear mayonnaise on his head. After the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, then the head coach can turn his attention to next season.

Although that is still a couple of weeks away, the Gophers have announced their schedule for the upcoming season. While Max Brosmer won’t be back, there is plenty of talent to look forward to and this is a team that should compete against all of their opponents.

Seven home games and a special venue for the Gophers

As was the case this year, the Minnesota Gophers will play host to seven opponents at Huntington Bank Stadium. They don’t host Big Ten blue bloods like Ohio State, Michigan, or Penn State, but none of them are on the schedule as road opponents either. Wisconsin will finish the season coming to Minnesota and hopefully leave without the axe once again.

It’s hard not to be excited about the prospects of a strong season based on this schedule. P.J. Fleck’s team avoids some of the Big Ten’s toughest tests, and they get both Michigan State and Nebraska to travel. The trip to Eugene against Oregon in November will be one that Minnesotan’s should circle.

Chicago is not far for Gophers fans in Minnesota, and the road contest against Northwestern takes on greater significance. The friendly confines of Wrigley Field will play host. A hallowed baseball sanctuary transforms for Minnesota as it has on three previous occasions.

Related: Minnesota Gophers Bowl Game Destination and Opponent Revealed

Fleck and the Gophers have just two non-conference opponents in 2025 after three in 2024. Buffalo and Northwestern State are both being paid to come and lose.

How does Minnesota fare in 2025?

With the schedule and game locations now official, it’s worth putting a prediction on the line. It’s pretty straightforward to suggests these games in the categories of wins, losses, and tossups. Of course plenty will depend on how good presumed starter Drake Lindsey winds up being. Darius Taylor and Koi Perich are both back though.

Wins (8): Buffalo, Northwestern State, @ Cal, Rutgers, Purdue, Nebraska, Michigan State, @ Northwestern

This is probably an aggressive stance. Buffalo and Northwestern State should be seen as givens. Neither present the challenge that North Carolina did to start the year. Cal finished 6-6 in 2024, but they were just 2-6 against the conference. Rutgers won’t have Athan Kaliakmanis, and Fleck needs to avenge an ugly loss. Purdue is still a doormat, and Michigan State isn’t what they once were.

Nebraska and Northwestern are easily the most questionable inclusions here. Dylan Riola is just a freshman, and he beat some legitimate competition this past season. The Wildcats aren’t great, but what will likely be a nationally televised game at Wrigley Field throws a wrench into things.

Losses (2): @ Ohio State, @ Oregon

These are straightforward. No matter how good Lindsey winds up being, it’s just not plausible that the Gophers will knock either of the conference’s best teams off on the road. Will Howard is gone next season, but the Buckeyes will have an answer regardless of whether Ryan Day is canned or not.

The Ducks were perfect in their first season as a member of the Big Ten. Dillon Gabriel graduates, but Dante Moore was already recruited by Dan Lanning to be the next man up. Oregon is a team that could run the table in consecutive seasons.

Tossups (2): @ Iowa, Wisconsin

Minnesota should have beat the Hawkeyes this season. The Gophers came out strong and Fleck forgot how to coach in the second half. It doesn’t get easier having to go to Kinnick Stadium next year. Iowa can’t ever figure out how to put points on the board, so that always leaves them susceptible to a defeat.

There’s no reason why Wisconsin won’t be beatable again next season. Luke Fickell doesn’t look cut out for the Big Ten, and the Badgers aren’t much of a competitor. That said, rivalry games bring out the best in everyone and it would be foolish to just immediately circle Minnesota as a winner here.

There’s a real path to a ten win season, and that would be insane for Fleck. Even losing to a pair of the best teams in the Big Ten, Minnesota should find itself in a legitimate bowl game if this is the ultimate result.

Minnesota Gophers Announce Softest Non-Conference Schedule in College Basketball https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/gophers-basketball/gophers-basketball-news/minnesota-gophers-basketball-news-easy-non-conference-schedule/ Fri, 23 Aug 2024 19:26:11 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=54157 Ben Johnson, head coach of the Minnesota Gophers basketball team, is heading into his fourth season with increased pressure. The Gophers’ newly released non-conference schedule looks to be one of the easiest in college basketball, heightening expectations.

Minnesota Gophers Basketball takes the “easy” non-conference route?

The Gophers are set to play 11 non-conference games, before diving into Big Ten action. Every game will be at home except for their trip to Orlando, Florida, for the ESPN Events Invitational. That means they won’t have any true road games during their entire 2024 non-conference schedule.

The Gophers haven’t made it to March Madness since 2019, and Ben Johnson has faced challenges in getting the team back on track. In his first three years, he hasn’t been able to lead them to the Big Dance.

Last season was the closest the Gophers have come to success, under Johnson’s leadership. You could argue the Gophers were just a Big Ten win, or two, away from securing a tournament spot.

Ben Johnson did not learn his NET Rating lesson

One of the things that held the 2023 team back, was their non-competitive non-conference schedule. NET Rankings dictate a team’s NCAA Tournament chances, these days, and it’s difficult to boost your NET rating when you play bad teams.

As you can see, Ben didn’t really learn his lesson, in that regard. Some would argue this type of schedule will actually make it more difficult for Minnesota to make the NCAA Tournament. In order to stay in the running for March Madness, they’ll need to win almost every non-conference game, particularly since they’re all at home.

Related: Hometown Former Gophers Basketball Player is Going Pro… in Boxing

Not only will they have to win them, though. They need to dominate them. Handling bad teams at home, with ease, is crucial to maintaining a high NET rating, and securing a spot in the tournament.

The Gophers only Quad 1 or 2 opponent in their non-conference slate, will probably be whoever wins between Wake Forest and Florida, in the first round of the ESPN Events Invitational. The rest of their schedule consists of Quad 3 and Quad 4 schools that most basketball fans have never heard of.

Minnesota Gophers men's basketball, ESPN Events Invitational 2024

On top of that, to earn the committee’s respect this season, they’ll likely need to win at least half of their Big Ten games, probably more. Especially considering their non-conference schedule.

Difficult start to Ben’s head coaching career…

Johnson has done well in non-conference games, holding a 26-10 record as the Gophers’ head coach. However, his Big Ten record is a different story, standing at 15-44. So, someone might want to let him know that nobody really cares about his non Big Ten record.

Related: Expect Gophers Football to Hire a GM Soon

Overall, Ben Johnson is 41-55 as the Minnesota Gophers’ head basketball coach. He is under serious pressure to deliver a strong season, and probably has to make the dance to keep his job. I’m not quite sure he chose the right path, but time will tell.

In most markets, games were slowly leaked by local insiders throughout the day, leading up to the official release at 7 PM CT.

Twin Cities Uber driver leaks Vikings schedule on Twitter

But for Minnesota Vikings fans who follow the right accounts on Twitter, you knew the entire schedule by brunch, if you’re into in-between meals. How? A mystery Twin Cities Uber driver who goes by @SkolBros on Twitter and @skolbros2 on Instagram.

His first leak of the day came at 6:24 AM CT. Vikings vs Eagles: Week 2 – Thursday Night Football. Packers vs Vikings at US Bank Stadium on New Year’s Eve came next at 6:32 AM CT.

His leaks continued from there. In Vegas on December 10, home vs Tampa Bay in week 1, 49ers at home on Monday Night Football October 23. By 9 AM, over half the Vikings schedule had been leaked and SkolBros accounted for almost every single one. At 10 AM, he tapped on local graphic artist Eli Corbett to just release the entire thing, including which five would be in prime time.

Follow your local Uber insider

Nine hours later, the Vikings did released their schedule via drone video that featured Kirk Cousins and Paul Allen, among others. Every game in the exact order that SkolBros reported earlier this morning.

This isn’t the first time SkolBros has proven himself to be one of the biggest and most plugged in NFL insiders on the internet. If you love being on the forefront of Vikings news and rumors, following your local Uber driving insider on Twitter would be a good idea.
