Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns are All-Stars. Head coach Chris Finch will be in Indianapolis too, running the show for the Western Conference.

It’s only the second time in franchise history that a Timberwolves coaching staff has operated an All-Star roster, and first since 2004, when Flip Saunders earned the honor. Success breeds belief and this Wolves’ first half has even created some believers, including one rap legend who’s calling a Minnesota Timberwolves NBA Finals Championship when the dust settles on the 2023-24 playoffs this summer.

50 Cent Calling Minnesota Timberwolves Championship

50 Cent was seen sitting courtside with Timberwolves co-owner Alex Rodriguez this past Sunday in Minneapolis, as the Timberwolves rolled the Houston Rockets by a final score of 111-90 .

The rapper was at Target Center on Sunday to promote his company “Sire Spirits”, an active Wolves brand partner since March of 2023. 50 was seen before the game around the concourse and interacting with Wolves fans, and members of the Wolves media too.

We all know about the Ja Rule incident (placed a 30-year championship curse – read more here). Joke’s on Ja Rule, this entire sports town has been cursed for a long time and it has nothing to do with him.

But 50 Cent, who’s 7X the rap artist Ja Rule ever was, believes this is the team that breaks the long-standing Minnesota sports curse (not the Ja Rule one, the real one).

Can The Wolves Actually Win It All?

Doubt 50 Cent at your own peril. Not only because of his non-expert basketball opinions, but because the Minnesota Timberwolves are the best team in the Western Conference, which is why they have owned the top spot for over 60 days this season; more than the rest of their franchise history combined.

As long as Minnesota’s defense continues at an elite level, they deserve to be in the NBA Finals conversation, no matter how difficult that might be for Wolves fans to wrap their heads around.

The Timberwolves have held opponents under 100 points 11 times this season, 5 more than any other team. They’ve given up more than 130 points just once all season. This is a squad that has bought into the defensive identity sold by Chris Finch, Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley.

Offensively, Anthony Edwards is blossoming into the phenom he’s been teasing since he first put on a Wolves uniform. But he also dribbles the ball around and clogs up the offense far too often sometimes. That’s not a negative, it shows that this team can get even better, and other teams know that.

The connection between Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert has solidified, and floor general Mike Conley has been the answer to so many of the questions fans and media had about this team last season. If they can add a little more offensive output at the deadline, anything can happen.

EPISODE 43 SUMMARY

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.19.15″]

The NFL Draft is around the corner and there is nobody better on the internet to talk to us about it than Jordan Reid or Climb the Pocket and Cover1 Sports. Jordan’s road to NFL Draft Analyst fame isn’t a normal one. It’s the Twitter Cinderella Story!

Jordan drops all sorts of knowledge on the Vikings’ options at 18. He tells us if it’s a lock for the Vikings to go offensive line or if they might look elsewhere. Who would need to drop for the us to look at drafting outside of OL?

With so much need at OL, Jordan tells us who might be a good fit for our purple and gold. He also tells us what he looks for while watching the combine, which will be alive in full force over the next few days.

Finally, we had to let Jordan go or Brandon never would’ve stopped asking questions… We moved onto Ja Rule’s supposed curse against the Timberwolves…. and the Kings?

Do the Twins have us actually reasonably excited for baseball?????????

Once-Relevant (sort of) Ja Rule “Curses” TWolves and Beefs w/ Team’s Twitter Sunday Morning https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-timberwolves/once-relevant-sort-of-ja-rule-curses-twolves-and-beefs-w-teams-twitter-sunday-morning/ https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-timberwolves/once-relevant-sort-of-ja-rule-curses-twolves-and-beefs-w-teams-twitter-sunday-morning/#respond Sun, 24 Feb 2019 17:41:08 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=13606 [et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”3.19.15″][et_pb_row _builder_version=”3.19.15″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.19.15″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.19.15″]

Do you remember Ja Rule? You know, the rapper from the early-2000’s. He used Ashanti and Beyoncé to embed himself in hip hop history with some of the most catchy songs of my teenage years. Here, these will refresh your memory:

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_code _builder_version=”3.19.15″]

[/et_pb_code][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.19.15″]

Ja fell off the face of the planet when he started beefing with the best rapper of all-time back in the 2000’s. It started with 50-Cent but eventually moved onto Eminem. He said Eminem’s daughter’s name on a diss track and anyone who’s done that hasn’t had a career afterward. You can get a quick catch-up on Ja-Rule’s demise here, if you aren’t familiar.

Anyways, back to the present where I’m 30 years old and not waiting 30 minutes for dial-up internet to download “Say What You Say“.

Ja Rule needed a little money and Milwaukee needed a name people might recognize for their halftime show. Enter Fiserv Forum, the Bucks new stadium, on Saturday night… Giannis apparently isn’t aware of how massive Ja Rule is……

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_code _builder_version=”3.19.15″]

[/et_pb_code][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.19.15″]

Don’t worry y’all…. Ja Rule was never good.

Now, the Minnesota Timberwolves have a very underrated Twitter account. I’d highly recommend them as a follow. And, like anyone who has a funny bone, they took their shot at the former kind-of relevant rapper:

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_code _builder_version=”3.19.15″]

[/et_pb_code][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.19.15″]

If you don’t know why the Wolves team tweet is so funny then you can go here to catch up on Ja Rule and all of the FYRE Fest controversy that was followed by a stupid tweet

Alright, so a great tweet from their Twitter account was followed with the Wolves expectedly losing on the floor and we were all about to move on with our lives. But just when you think Ja Rule can’t get any dumber… he tests his own stupidity with this tweet, in response to the Timberwolves from the night before.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_code _builder_version=”3.19.15″]

[/et_pb_code][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.19.14″]

I know we have our anxiety around this state with curses but i promise you that this isn’t one you need to worry about. If Ja had half of a brain, he’d realize that any Timberwolves “curse” far outdates his tweet. We’ve been suffering here for awhile there smart guy…

In fact, he’s such a joke that I’ve come up with a theory that might actually lift your spirits this morning as a minnesota fan… Other people are on board with the theory, it appears. It’s growing support fast on the old interwebs. I wish I could get Ja to curse this website… I’ll keep tweeting and see what happens.
