They have added on both the offensive and defensive lines, which also meant moving on from former talent, as well.

It seemed as though the guard position was the most glaring need for the Minnesota Vikings, on offense. Before they improved at that position with the signing Will Fries though, general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah made a bit of a surprise move by inking Fries’ teammate in Indianapolis, former Pro Bowl center Ryan Kelly.

The signing of Kelly signaled the end of Garrett Bradbury’s run in Minnesota, a prophecy that came to fruition on Monday, when the Vikings failed to find a trade partner for their six-year starter, and thus chose to release the veteran out of NC State. Bradbury’s time on the open market didn’t last long, however.

Former Minnesota Vikings center Garrett Bradbury finds a new home

Tuesday afternoon, news broke that Garrett Bradbury had found his new home in New England, as a member of the New England Patriots. His new deal is worth two years and up to $12 million ($3.8M guaranteed). He’ll be tasked with helping along the development of 2024 No. 3 overall pick, Drake Maye.

The Minnesota Vikings drafted Garrett Bradbury 18th overall during the 2019 NFL Draft. They decided against picking up his fifth-year option, after his third year in the NFL, but Bradbury earned an extension during that fourth season, anyway, which got us here.

Drake Maye was on the Minnesota Vikings radar last season. Ultimately, he went to the Patriots at No. 3 and the Vikings selecting J.J. McCarthy. It remains to be seen if McCarthy will be the primary signal caller for Kevin O’Connell in 2025, but we know he’ll have a different center snapping him the football.

Bradbury has big shoes to fill in New England

Apparently, the Patriots view Bradbury as an upgrade over what they have on the roster. As a Viking, the 29-year-old Charlottem, NC native started 88 games across his six seasons. His greatest deficiency came as a byproduct of size.

Last season, Aaron Jones and the MN Vikings running game was routinely stuffed in short-yardage situations, due to a lack of push from the interior offensive line. The same can be said for Sam Darnold, and Kirk Cousins, before him. In Minnesota, the most disruptive pass rushers over the past few seasons have come from the interior.

Bradbury’s two-year deal signifies a certain level of commitment to the former Vikings starter, but most of his money is not guaranteed. The Patriots former center was David Andrews, who they released after nine season, 124 games played and two Super Bowl Rings.

That means Garrett Bradbury will have some big shoes to fill. Over the course of his career, the former Vikings first round pick has earned $28.5 million. This new deal guarantees he’ll add at least $4 million to that total.

Minnesota Vikings Fail to Find Trade Partner for Former 1st Round Pick https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-vikings/minnesota-vikings-news/garrett-bradbury-released-post-june-1/ Mon, 17 Mar 2025 22:45:03 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=61502 The new league year isn’t even a week old yet and the Minnesota Vikings have already had one of the best and most productive offseasons in franchise history.

Since NFL free agency officially began on Wednesday, general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has signed two interior offensive line starters, two interior defensive line starters and re-signed their two highest defensive back priorities. Running back questions have also been answered, as have depth problems at linebacker.

Unfortunately you can’t keep everyone. That’s proven true for the Vikings, who have been forced to let plenty of talent walk out the door for very little in return. They failed to find a trade partner for QB Sam Darnold, who hit it (somewhat) big in free agency, signing a 3-year, $100 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks.

Cam Bynum left via free agency, as well. So did current top remaining free agent Cam Robinson and Johnny Mundt, among others. Then last week, the Vikings traded right guard Ed Ingram for a 6th round pick, then flipped that pick to the 49ers for running back, Jordan Mason.

Minnesota Vikings releasing center Garrett Bradbury

Unfortunately, the Minnesota Vikings could not do the same thing for 2019 No. 18 overall pick, center Garrett Bradbury. Thus, the team announced Monday that they are releasing the 29-year-old, 6-year starter with a post-June 1 designation, which allows Kwesi to spread out Bradbury’s $2.4M dead cap penalty over the next two seasons, instead of taking it all on in 2025.

Garrett Bradbury started all 88 games he played on the Minnesota Vikings offensive line, but he never reached the mid-first round potential he was drafted to be, which at the center position, should be annual All-Pro selections. Instead, Bradbury failed to even make a Pro Bowl while snapping footballs in purple.

As PFF helps prove, Garrett Bradbury is a much better run blocker than he is a pass blocker, something that continually showed itself during his six seasons with the MN Vikings, posting a 65.5 run block grade or higher ever season since he was a rookie. Unfortunately, his pass block grades spent more time in the thirties and forties, than it did above 55…

Vikings Trade One Former Starting O-Lineman, Plan to Release Another https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-vikings/minnesota-vikings-news/ed-ingram-traded-texans-garrett-bradbury-leaving/ Thu, 13 Mar 2025 21:11:02 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=61351 It has been quite a week for the Minnesota Vikings, who have been extremely active during the start of NFL Free Agency, bringing back multiple members of the 2024 secondary, in Harrison Smith and Byron Murphy Jr, while simultaneously turning over both the interior offensive and defensive lines with upgraded talent.

On the OL, the front office signed two former Indianapolis Colts, 31-year-old center Ryan Kelly and 26-year-old guard, Will Fries. While those signings answered some serious questions on the offensive trenches, it also begged a few questions, like what the MN Vikings planned to do with 6-year starting center, Garrett Bradbury and 2022 2nd round pick, Ed Ingram. On Thursday afternoon, we got answers to both of those questions.

Minnesota Vikings trade Ed Ingram, set to release Garret Bradbury

First, news broke from NFL Network that the Vikings were trading 26-year-old Ed Ingram to the Houston Texans for a 6th round draft pick. Shortly after that, Adam Schefter (ESPN) reported that Kwesi & Co are trying to do the same with 2019 1st round pick, Garrett Bradbury, but that they plan to release the 29-year-old NC State alum, if a trade partner cannot be found.

Garrett Bradbury has started all 88 games of his NFL career. He’s always had the mental capacity to be a really good center, but he’s just never had the strength and size to hold off the biggest, baddest defensive tackles, something that has regularly become a problem for the Minnesota Vikings during his career.

Last year, Bradbury finished the season with a 62.1 PFF grade (70.7 RBLK, 48.2 PBLK), grades that are extremely consistent with what he has shown his entire career. Garrett’s best season, according to PFF, was 2022, when he graded a 70.2 on offense, 72.4 RBLK and 67.1 PBLK.

Related: Minnesota Vikings Interested in Former OPOY

Ed Ingram is one of the most disappointing draft picks of the 2022 class, which is saying something. Ingram has always had the talent and the size, but could never put it all together with the Minnesota Vikings. He is only 26-years-old, which probably tells us why Kwesi found it easier to get draft pick compensation for his services, than that of Garrett Bradbury’s.

In total, Ingram started 41 of the 48 games he played in purple. PFF hated him even more than Bradbury. In 2024, Ingram posted the worst PFF Grades of his career, with a 54.0 offense grade, 58.1 RBLK grade and 49.1 PBLK grade. During his three NFL seasons, Ingram never pushed his PFF grade over 59.5.

Vikings Skyrocket Up NFL O-Line Investment Rankings https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-vikings/minnesota-vikings-news/most-expensive-offensive-line-nfl/ Wed, 12 Mar 2025 16:40:00 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=61257 Heading into the offseason, the Minnesota Vikings had no greater need than addressing an offensive line that allowed a season-high nine sacks, in their playoff loss to the Rams. Thankfully, it didn’t take long for general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to find a pair of Pro Bowl caliber interior trench warriors (with existing rapport), during the first two days of the 2025 NFL free agency negotiating period.

New Minnesota Vikings O-Linemen getting paid handsomely

The first OL upgrade came Monday, when the Vikings agreed to terms with former Colts center, Ryan Kelly. Then, early Tuesday morning, they did the same with his teammate, top free agent guard Will Fries. Both will be paid in the top 10 at their respective position.

Will Fries’ new deal is worth five years, $88 million. He immediately slots in as Minnesota’s new starting right guard. Fries was the fourth-best guard in the NFL last season, as ranked by Pro Football Focus (86.9 DEF Grade), drawing especially high marks as a run blocker (84.9 RBLK Grade – fifth-best guard in NFL).

Related: Minnesota Vikings Free Agency Signings – 2025

When he officially signs Wednesday, the soon to be 27-year-old Fries will become the NFL’s ninth-highest-paid offensive guard, according to Spotrac. His signing represents a Minnesota Vikings willingness to invest on the interior OL in a way they have not been willing to since the Steve Hutchinson signing in the mid-2000s.

Incumbent Vikings offensive linemen aren’t cheap, either

Pro Bowl center Ryan Kelly was signed to a much more affordable contract, from an overall money standpoint, But at two years, $18 million ($9M AAV), the 31-year-old 4X Pro Bowler comes in as the seventh-highest-paid center in the NFL. Don’t forget about Bradbury is still the 16th-highest-paid center too.

The MN Vikings’ new offensive linemen will join cornerstone tackles Brian O’Neill and Christian Darrisaw, who were set in stone on the depth chart before the offseason began. Back in 2021, the Vikings signed O’Neill — their two-time Pro Bowl right tackle — to a five-year, $92.5 million contract extension, locking him in until 2027.

Then in June of 2023, the Vikings inked 2021 1st round pick, left tackle Christian Darrisaw, to a four-year, $104 million contract extension, locking their blindside protector in until 2030. He’s currently the NFL’s third-highest-paid tackle, with an annual average salary of $26 million per season.

Related: Vikings’ New Free Agent Deal Just Got Sweeter

Don’t forget about former first-round pick Garrett Bradbury, who signed a three-year contract extension worth up to $15.75 million ($5.25M AAV) back in 2023. The former Nebraska Cornhusker is only under contract for the 2025 season, but his time in purple could be even more limited than that, should the Vikings decide to move on, now that they have Ryan Kelly to play center.

Vikings now have NFL’s most expensive offensive line

Add it all up, and the Vikings now have the most expensive offensive line in the NFL, with an annual average value (AAV) of $86.7 million per season, according to Spotrac. The Carolina Panthers come in second, at an AAV of $84.7 million, with the Chiefs right behind them.

In other words, no team has invested more monetarily into their offensive line than the Vikings have, after their signings this week. Now, if their investment turns into production, the future of the Minnesota Vikings offensive line should be a lot better next year and beyond.

Minnesota Vikings Signing New Pro Bowl Center https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-vikings/minnesota-vikings-news/ryan-kelly-signing-center-free-agency/ Mon, 10 Mar 2025 23:29:39 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=61179 Although free agency doesn’t officially open until Wednesday so nothing can be made official until then, but many of the league’s top available players are already off the board, unofficially. For the most part, Monday has been curiously quiet for the Vikings, who have lost a lot more key players today than they have gained.

Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has plenty of cap space to work with, and the Vikings have a whole host of roster holes to fill. But so far, Minnesota has been very careful not to throw that money around. But finally on Monday evening, the Vikings finally upgraded a major area of need — the interior offensive line.

Ryan Kelly beefs up Minnesota Vikings offensive line

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with 31-year-old 4X Pro Bowl center Ryan Kelly, who comes with nine years of NFL experience with the Indianapolis Colts, to a 2-year, $18 million contract. His 10th and 11th season, however, will be played in purple.

The Minnesota Vikings already have a strong pair of tackles to bookend their offensive line. Brian O’Neill previously received a contract extension and left tackle Christian Darrisaw signed one last season. The interior offensive line has been a persistent problem holding this offense back. Ryan Kelly should immediately help fix that.

Kelly was the 18th overall pick during the 2016 NFL Draft. He has played 121 games across 9 seasons and all of his 7,696 snaps have been taken at the center position. Kelly was named a second-team All-Pro in 2020, and made Pro Bowls in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2023.

Related: Minnesota Vikings Free Agency Signings – 2025

The Alabama alum has struggled to stay healthy for full seasons during his impressive NFL career, however. Last season, Kelly suffered a knee injury that required surgery and ultimately limited him to 10 games. In 2023, a Pro Bowl season, he played 14 games. Only once (2023), since the NFL went to 18-week seasons, has Kelly played all 17 games.

Guard was a position the Minnesota Vikings were expected to upgrade. It seems unlikely that Kelly would sign a free agent contract to switch positions a decade into his NFL career. That means there could be more shuffling on the Minnesota offensive line.

Last season the Vikings started Blake Brandel and Ed Ingram at guard positions to open the season. Ultimately the latter was benched in favor of veteran Dalton Risner.

What does this mean for MN Vikings Garrett Bradbury?

It’s certainly not a great day to be Garrett Bradbury. He has almost certainly lost his starting center role, and he may be on the outs in general. Minnesota took Bradbury at 18th overall (quite the parallel) in 2019. His production has largely been hit or miss throughout his career.

Garrett Bradbury, Minnesota Vikings

A solid 2022 season earned him a new contract after the MN Vikings had decided to decline his fifth-year option. This is the final year of that deal and Bradbury carries a $6.064 million cap hit with just $2.442 million in dead cap. If he wasn’t thinking that Minnesota may cut him, they certainly could now.

Related: Vikings Young Safety Finds Greener Pastures

It also may signal a desire to approach Bradbury about working at guard. His push against opposing defensive tackles left the Vikings needing more last season. The running game was often stuffed, and his inability to open holes certainly didn’t help.

Like Kelly, all 88 games of Bradbury’s career have come at center. He has taken 5,576 snaps there. Learning a new position now probably isn’t ideal, but it’s likely the only way he sticks around in Minnesota.

If and when the Vikings sign a starting guard, it would lead to an even greater belief that Bradbury was simply someone they felt needed to be improved upon. No matter what, the line gets better with Kelly’s addition.

Week 16 PFF Grades: Minnesota Vikings’ Top Performers and Key Takeaways https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-vikings/minnesota-vikings-news/week-16-pff-grades-vs-seahawks/ Mon, 23 Dec 2024 21:42:21 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=58484 The Minnesota Vikings edged out a nail-biting 27-24 win over the Seahawks on Sunday, improving their record to 13-2. Seattle isn’t an easy place to grab a victory, making this one even sweeter. It’s the Vikings’ first win in Seattle since 2006, back when Brad Johnson was the quarterback.

The Vikings are now shifting their attention to the Green Bay Packers, their opponent this Sunday. A win would move Minnesota to 14-2 and set up a Week 18 showdown against the Detroit Lions with the NFC’s #1 seed on the line.

Minnesota Vikings Week 16 PFF Grades

We can’t overlook this game against the Seahawks. The Vikings went from leading by 10 to trailing by 4 late in the game, but they fought hard to keep their NFC North hopes alive. Here’s a look at the top performers for the Minnesota Vikings this week, as graded by PFF.

Top 5 Offense

  • Justin Jefferson – 81.5 PFF Grade (64 snaps)
  • Sam Darnold – 78.4 PFF Grade (66 snaps)
  • Blake Brandel – 76.2 PFF Grade (66 snaps)
  • Dalton Risner – 68.7 PFF Grade (66 snaps)
  • Jordan Addison – 61.5 PFF Grade (59 snaps)

Justin Jefferson was the top offensive player in this game, and if you tuned in, it’s easy to see why. He racked up 10 catches for 144 yards and two touchdowns, completely dominating the Seahawks’ defense.

It’s also worth pointing out that two offensive linemen made the list as well. With such strong play up front, the offensive line has been a huge reason why Sam Darnold has found success all season.

Top 5 Defense

  • Dallas Turner – 91.3 PFF Grade (16 snaps)
  • Theo Jackson – 85.3 PFF Grade (20 snaps)
  • Pat Jones – 80.4 PFF Grade (27 snaps)
  • Josh Metellus – 77.9 PFF Grade (64 snaps)
  • Shaquill Griffin – 75.3 PFF Grade (25 snaps)

Rookie Dallas Turner earned the highest grade on the team, but his performance came with some challenges. He only played 16 snaps, recording one interception. The Seahawks made it a point to challenge Turner, and he held up formidably.

When the rookie dropped into coverage, Geno Smith targeted his receiver four time, which resulted in three catches. Nonetheless, his INT still pushed his coverage grade all the way to 93.5 and three catches.

Josh Metellus stood out the most on the top 5 list, having the most impressive grade thanks to his workload. He played a whopping 64 snaps, racked up nine tackles, and even managed to apply some pressure on the quarterback with 4 total pressures.

Bottom 5 Offense

  • Garrett Bradbury – 41.4 PFF Grade (66 snaps)
  • Jalen Nailor – 50.8 PFF Grade (35 snaps)
  • T.J. Hockenson – 52.2 PFF Grade (46 snaps)
  • Cam Robinson – 55.2 PFF Grade (66 snaps)
  • Aaron Jones – 55.7 PFF Grade (54 snaps)

It’s frustrating to see center Garrett Bradbury receive such a low grade this week. He really struggled with pass blocking, earning a 26.6 pass-blocking grade. His run-blocking grade wasn’t much better at 46.0, which contributed to his overall score of 41.1, the lowest on the team.

TJ Hockenson had a rough week, catching only 2 passes for 27 yards. He spent a lot of time on the line, earning a pass blocking grade of 18.1. However, he performed better in run blocking with a grade of 51.3. Hockenson will need to improve his play, as he’ll be a key piece for the team heading into the playoffs.

Bottom 5 Defense

  • Bobby McCain – 52.3 PFF Grade (37 snaps)
  • Blake Cashman – 55.1 PFF Grade (64 snaps)
  • Jerry Tillery – 56.7 PFF Grade (23 snaps)
  • Harrison Phillips – 57.3 PFF Grade (39 snaps)
  • Stephon Gilmore – 58.8 PFF Grade (60 snaps)

Blake Cashman is definitely one of the most disappointing names on this list. The Vikings are 12-0 when he plays this season, which shows just how important he is to their defense. However, according to PFF, he struggled in his last game with tackling, earning a low grade of 31.9, which is why he’s ranked among the bottom five.

Related: Minnesota Vikings vs Green Bay Packers Flexed for Week 17

Bobby McCain had some big shoes to fill stepping in for Harrison Smith, and while he ended up with the lowest grade on defense, it’s worth cutting him some slack. This was the most playing time he’s had all season, and he had only appeared in two other games before Week 16.

The Minnesota Vikings continue to prove there worth

Riding an impressive 8-game winning streak into Week 17, the Vikings continue to prove why they’re 13-2 and one of the top teams in the league. Week in and week out, they show what it takes to stay at the top.

Even when key players like Blake Cashman and Garrett Bradbury have off games, there’s always someone ready to step up. Whether it’s rookie Dallas Turner or Blake Brandel, they’ve got the depth and resilience to keep pushing forward.

Minnesota Vikings Looking to Extend Most of the Offensive Line…? https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-vikings/minnesota-vikings-rumors/offensive-line-contract-extension-rumors/ Thu, 14 Nov 2024 16:34:18 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=57306 The Minnesota Vikings are 7-2 and one of the most surprising success stories in the NFL this season. It hasn’t been a smooth ride, but that’s expected when Sam Darnold is your starting quarterback. But overall, their one-year bridge starter has overachieved, through nine games.

But Darnold isn’t the only overachiever on this roster. In fact, the one-word theme surrounding the Vikings’ 2024 season is probably “overachievers”. The defense has blossomed into one of the best in the league, under Brian Flores. Running back Aaron Jones has proven he still had plenty of gas left in his 29-year-old tank.

How good is the Minnesota Vikings offensive line?

But what about the Minnesota Vikings offensive line? Has it overachieved too, or does head coach Kevin O’Connell still have a major problem on the interior? Well, that’s a complex question to answer.

PFF

Statistics, advanced metrics and PFF grades tell part of the story. At the end of the day, though, judging OL play is difficult, no matter how trained of a football eye you have. The better question is probably, what do Minnesota Vikings coaches and front office members think?

Related: Minnesota Vikings Injury Report Relatively Clean to Start Week 11

Those are the opinions that matter most. And from the sounds of it, according to a piece that dropped Thursday morning, Alec Lewis (The Athletic) seems to think those who matter have mostly liked what they have seen so far from the Vikings OL.

Contract extensions incoming for Vikings OL?

In fact, it sounds like Kwesi and head coach Kevin O’Connell may be thinking about contract extensions for multiple players on the Vikings front-5. First up, Brian O’Neill, arguably the team’s best offensive lineman. The 29-year-old is under contract through 2026, but his cap hit reaches it’s high point in 2025, at $26 million.

Brian O'Neill, Minnesota Vikings offensive line
Credit: Kevin Tresolini / USA TODAY NETWORK

His current contract situation makes O’Neill an easy extension candidate. He’ll be able do add more term and a lot more guaranteed cash. In return, the Vikings can bring down that massive $26M cap hit for next season.

Brian O’Neill isn’t the only offensive lineman the Vikings may be eyeing up for a possible extension, though. According to Lewis, both Garrett Bradbury and Blake Brandel may be on the docket too.

All five [Vikings o-linemen] are under contract through 2025, but their deals do not become guaranteed until the spring, meaning there is always the chance some adjustments could be made.

The most interesting names are on the offensive line: Brian O’Neill is a fixture on the offensive front and adores Minnesota, so a contract extension to reshuffle his year-over-year numbers is not out of the question. Garrett Bradbury and Blake Brandel are worthy of deeper discussions come spring.

Alec Lewis – The Athletic

Outside of the disaster that has been Ed Ingram, the Minnesota Vikings OL has mostly been a 2024 success story. The group is holding up better than it had in previous years, even after losing its best player, Christian Darrisaw, to a season-ending injury.

Related: NFL Insiders Debate a Possible Sam Darnold + Vikings 2025 Reunion

If Kevin O’Connell prefers continuity, which seems to be another theme with this o-line, then extending everyone but Ed Ingram makes a lot of sense.

While this week’s Thursday Night Football matchup doesn’t feature the Minnesota Vikings, it’s still a good body clock timer. Thursdays during football season remind us to proactively set our fantasy football lineups, check up on betting odds and start to get prepared for the Vikings game that weekend.

For example, Minnesota Vikings fans are finding out this afternoon/evening that Trevor Lawrence is unlikely to play for their opponent, the Jacksonville Jaguars, on Sunday. But Lawrence’s injury isn’t the only one we are keeping eyes on, leading up to this week 10 contest.

Ivan Pace Jr - Minnesota Vikings injury report - Thursday, Week 10, 2024
Kirby Lee-Imagn Images

The first injury report for the Minnesota Vikings dropped on Wednesday and there were a lot of names on it. That’s what happens on Wednesdays, especially as we creep closer to the end of the season. Hell, the Vikings listed a few players on the injury report yesterday just for “rest”.

Minnesota Vikings practice report for Thursday brings good news

Thursday practice reports in the NFL are taken much more seriously. DNPs on Thursday are unlikely to play Sunday. If a player can’t go on Friday, you might as well rule them out for that week. That’s why it was good to see all three Vikings’ DNPs from yesterday (Bradbury, Van Ginkel, Pace Jr) were either listed as “Full” participants today, or at the least, “Limited”.

Kevin Seifert (ESPN) reports that Gabriel Murphy, who is in his 21-day PUP practice window, had a planned off-day. He did not suffer any sort of setback that kept him out of practice today.

As of today, the Minnesota Vikings practice report might look the healthiest it has all season. Blake Cashman appears due to return. Neither TJ Hockenson or Dalton Risner have made an appearance, at all, on this week’s injury reports. We’ll see if Risner gets any run… but that’s another conversation.

Mostly healthy… but with a new left tackle

The only starter in the organization who won’t be on the field vs Jacksonville is Christian Darrisaw. He tore his ACL and MCL two weeks ago, and will not return this season. General manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah replaced Carrisaw via trade. The Vikings sent conditional day two draft picks to Sunday’s opponent, the Jacksonville Jaguars, for veteran LT Cam Robinson.

One week in, the move looks genius. Kevin O’Connell called it one of the biggest moves that Kwesi has made since the two arrived here in the 2022 offseason. That’s saying something for a front office that has traded for TJ Hockenson, drafted Jordan Addison and plucked Blake Cashman, Andrew Van Ginkel and Jonathan Greenard from free agency.

If the Minnesota Vikings can avoid some sort of freak late-week injury on Friday or Saturday, this team should have one of the best collections of talent it’s put out on the field yet this season. Without Lawrence (not that he would have made the difference), Sunday should be a long day for the (2-7) Jacksonville Jaguars.

Of course… as a Minnesota sports fan… I’ve read this story before and it rarely ends how it is supposed to.

Minnesota Vikings Injury Report: Blake Cashman Returns to Practice https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-vikings/minnesota-vikings-news/week-10-injury-report-wednesday/ Wed, 06 Nov 2024 22:34:22 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=57044 The 6-2 Minnesota Vikings are getting ready to take on the 2-7 Jacksonville Jaguars this week. Even with Jacksonville’s shaky record, every game in the NFL is a challenge. The Vikings might have a few minor injuries in the mix, but things are starting to look up for them.

Minnesota Vikings Wednesday injury report

Starting center Garrett Bradbury and linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel both skipped today’s practice for rest, not due to any injuries. In even better news, the Vikings got one important player back on the practice field, inside linebacker Blake Cashman.

Cashman, a hometown favorite, finally returned to practice Wednesday, after being sidelined for the past few games. He’s aiming to get back into form, and there’s a chance we might see him back in action this week. He was only limited in practice today.

It’s not exactly reassuring to see Ivan Pace Jr. back on the injury report. He’s already missed some time earlier this season, and now he’s dealing with a knee tweak from Sunday night’s game. Today, he didn’t practice at all, which isn’t promising.

Akayleb Evans, Gabe Murphy, Theo Jackson, and Josh Oliver all made the injury report, but they were still able to practice. Jackson and Oliver were full participants, while Evans and Murphy were somewhat limited.

Three Minnesota Vikings Miss Practice Wednesday https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-vikings/minnesota-vikings-news/injury-report-week-4-wednesday-packers-official/ Wed, 25 Sep 2024 21:03:57 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=55438 The Minnesota Vikings are getting ready for their latest “prove it” game of the season, this Sunday vs the Green Bay Packers. At 3-0, they are off to one of the most shocking starts in the NFL. Some have jumped on the bandwagon, others have not.

On Wednesday, the first official Minnesota Vikings injury report of the week dropped. Earlier on Wednesday, we already found out, via an irritated Kevin O’Connell, that the outlook on Addison remains cloudy, but he seems more likely to play than last week. The injury report listed him as “limited”.

Unfortunately, the same could not be said for Garrett Bradbury, Ivan Pace Jr and Jay Ward, all of which were held out. Along with Addison, Jonathan Bullard, Kamu Grugier-Hill, Josh Oliver and Dallas Turner were also limited. The most positive news of this report: Sam Darnold was listed as a full participant.

So far, injuries have been an important part of their 2024 story, but not a deciding factor. They’ve been without Jordan Addison for most of the season, but they narrowly skirted serious injuries for both Justin Jefferson and Sam Darnold.

On Tuesday, Kevin O’Connell sounded very optimistic on KFAN Radio when talking about the likelihood Dallas Turner plays this weekend. Garrett Bradbury has spent a lot of time on the Minnesota Vikings injury report, through 3+ weeks in 2024.

Every time, so far, he has returned to practice by the end of the week and played on Sunday. We will get further updates as the week goes on. You will find those at MinnesotaSportsFan.com, shortly after they drop.
