Jared Spurgeon Has Head Injury But Update is Optimistic
Jared Spurgeon left last night’s loss vs the Colorado Avalanche with an “upper body” injury that we now know is actually a “head injury”. The update comes via Darren Wolfson of KSTP and SKOR North on Twitter just minutes ago. Along with the clarity, came some optimism regarding the Minnesota Wild defensemen.
There's optimism that the head injury #MNWild captain Jared Spurgeon suffered in the 2nd period last night won't keep him out a long time. Helps to get Fiala back tomorrow, but man, the bodies missing have been stacking out for the Wild.

This is good news on multiple fronts because head injuries are obviously no joke. Hopefully, this means that whatever kept Spurgeon out of last night’s finish didn’t even reach concussion level, let alone anything that could be more worrisome.
The Minnesota Wild’s next game comes on Thursday and will complete a 4-game in six day stretch against the Avs. Currently, they trail that series 2-1 with their only victory coming in overtime.
The Wild currently sit in 3rd place of the West standings. The top 4 teams will make the playoffs.
