The Minnesota Vikings are exhausting every possible option, in their quest to replace quarterback, Kirk Cousins. That includes trade conversations, leading up to the deadline tomorrow at 3 p.m. CDT.

But according to the latest reports, the Vikings are currently leaning toward a free agent pickup. Since Kirk went down, Kevin O’Connell’s phone has been blowing up. He claims we wouldn’t believe some of the texts he has received.

Conversations have been had with Joe Flacco, among others. But one name that has popped up among multiple league insiders is 37-year-old veteran QB Colt McCoy, who has a history in Kevin O’Connell’s offense.

McCoy would be a solid veteran pickup but we’d have to wait and see on whether or not he would be an immediate upgrade to Jaren Hall. The former Texas QB is a career backup and he hasn’t started more than 4 games in a season since 2011 for the Cleveland Browns.

He’s thrown for just under 8,000 yards in his career, including 34 touchdowns and 32 interceptions. Could these latest rumors be a smoke screen, as GM Kwesi-Adofo Mensah tries to get the price down on possible trade targets? The deadline is less than 24 hours away so we will find out soon.
