The Minnesota Vikings will go back to Nick Mullens as their starting quarterback vs the Detroit Lions on Sunday in a game they have to win in order to have any chance at making the playoffs, Kevin O’Connell announced on Wednesday.

Vikings going with best of poor options, Nick Mullens

After starting two games in a row for the Vikings in weeks 15 and 16, Nick Mullens was relieved by rookie Jaren Hall for exactly one half vs the Green Bay Packers. By then, KOC had realized he made a giant mistake by giving the 5th rounder a start on a stage that was too big for him, at this point in his development.

In two games as a starter, Nick has thrown 4 touchdowns and 6 interceptions, to go along with a whopping 714 yards through the air. He’s made plenty of boneheaded decisions and poor throws but there’s little doubt surrounding which quarterback the Vikings’ offense moves best under. It’s Mullens.
