Lions’ Star Wide Receiver Fears Packers More Than Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings are locked in a heated battle for the NFC North crown with the Detroit Lions. Right now, the Lions are leading the pack at 12-1. However, the Vikings are hot on their heels with an 11-2 record.
The Lions came out on top when the two teams met back in Week 7, but they’ll face off again in the season finale, in a game that very well could decide both the division and the No. 1 seed in the NFC next month.
Amon-Ra St. Brown would rather play Minnesota Vikings than Green Bay Packers
If you didn’t already know, Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and his brother Equanimeous, have their own podcast. On the latest episode, things got interesting when the lesser-known St. Brown posed an intriguing question to his brother.
Which NFC North rival would the Lions superstar receiver rather face in the playoffs, the Minnesota Vikings or Green Bay Packers? Amon-Ra paused for a moment, thinking it over, before finally naming the Vikings, suggesting he fears the Packers more.
Equanimeous: “What’s up with the NFC North?”
Amon-Ra: “It’s the best division in football.”
Equanimeous: “The Bears are like, the thing is, even though the Bears’ record is not good, it’s like, you know, you always got to be careful playing them.”
Amon-Ra: “But playing a team three times in one season just sounds absurd. Three times in one season, that’s like a series. Like, that’s some NBA shit.”
Equanimeous: “Who would you rather play in the playoffs? Packers or Vikings?”
Amon-Ra: “Well, we haven’t played the Vikings the second time yet, but I’ll probably say the Vikings. I mean, they’re both, playing a division team in the playoffs. It gets nutty. You don’t know what’s gonna happen.”
St. Brown Podcast
Amon-Ra St. Brown gave credit to how tough the NFC North really is. He also admitted he’s not a fan of the idea of playing a team three times in one season. But if he had to pick one team for that scenario, he’d choose the Vikings.
He also mentioned that he’s already faced the Green Bay Packers twice this season, including last week, while the Vikings have only been played once. So, it might just be a matter of recency.
Why would St. Brown fear the Vikings less than the Packers?
Amon-Ra St. Brown has a solid record of 5-2 against the Minnesota Vikings in his career. He’s even better against the Packers, with a 6-2 record. When it comes to his stats, Amon-Ra has put up much better stats against the Vikings.

He has 56 catches for 654 yards and 4 touchdowns in 7 games against the Vikings, compared to 47 catches for 481 yards and 3 touchdowns in 8 games against the Packers. Given those numbers, it’s easy to see why he would say what he said.
The Minnesota Vikings, led by Kevin O’Connell and the Brian Flores defense, will look to get revenge on Amon-Ra and the Lions in Week 18. It’s been a long time since the Vikings beat Detroit, September 25, 2022, to be exact, and it’s time for that to change. With everything potentially on the line, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
