Justin Jefferson Just Went Full Randy Moss Afro for Packers Week
Justin Jefferson has been compared to Randy Moss at different times throughout JJ’s rookie season with the Minnesota Vikings. That’s because his debut numbers compare to only one other rookie WR in franchise history. The man, the myth, the legend himself.
Thru 6 Career Games | Rec | Td | Yds | Yds/Rec | Yds/Tgt |
Justin Jefferson | 28 | 3 | 537 | 19.18 | 14.92 |
Randy Moss | 27 | 6 | 527 | 19.52 | 12.26 |
Randy Moss had so many memorable moments in Minnesota, both on and off the field, that counting them would mean math that my brain isn’t qualified for.
But I do know that some of Moss’ best moments in purple came with his legendary afro. Every single time that dude took his braids out and let those beautiful tightly-wound locks stand free… you knew you were getting the best version of Randy that night.
‘Fro Moss vs Packers
The most memorable afro moment has to be during the 2004 playoffs (1/9/2005), when Randy cooked Green Bay for two touchdowns on a busted up ankle and Joe Buck disgraced himself as a broadcaster.
Vikings Playoff History – Win #18. 1/9/2005. 2nd Half vs the Packers. A couple more of Brett Favre's 4 INTs, Moss Scores and "Shoots the Moon" while the Vikings trounce the Packers 31-17 at Lambeau. How sweet is was! @Nate13Burleson @RandyMoss #vikings pic.twitter.com/AXhHy74Sjy

While their new stud rookie WR may not have watched that game vs GB (he was 5) or the career of the Minnesota Vikings GOAT, as it unfolded in real time… something tells me he’s been reading the right history books and watching some big time youtube videos.
Why? Because this man just busted his own braids out for Packers week and he dedicated his new hair to Randy Moss himself, in an Instagram story. If you don’t like Justin Jefferson, that feeling won’t last long. This man just has “it”.
oh no he didnโt ?? pic.twitter.com/mPjMmHubWa

There isn’t very much hope for 2020 Vikings fans to grasp as the season moves forward. But, we have Justin Jefferson and he may end up being one of the best things Rick Spielman ever did as the Minnesota GM.
His natural skills at wide receiver show out every time he hits the field and that’s not something you can say about every receiver in the league, even some of the best ones.
And he has the swagger, hunger and athleticism to boot… So, while the Vikings should definitely hit the reset button on their philosophy after 2020, having a guy like JJ to help bring along the rebuild, will be priceless.
