New Report has Harrison Smith in Danger of Being Released
Reports on Thursday said that Harrison Smith was willing and likely to take a pay cut so he could remain with the Minnesota Vikings. But on Friday, the rumor winds have changed directions.
Whatever parallel river the two sides were traveling down earlier in the week, it seems to have hit a split. This according to Darren Wolfson (SKOR North), the same reporter who foresaw a deal coming between the two sides just one day ago.
A new Scoop with @DWolfsonKSTP to be posted today @SKORNorth. Lead Vikings note was that as of noon it appeared to be trending toward Harrison Smith being released. As Doogie said, it's very fluid and there have been ongoing talks, but the Vikings brass isn't playing around.

Did the Vikings come in so low, in their initial offer to renegotiate Harrison Smith’s contract, that he and/or his agent are now feeling disrespected? Is this a negotiating tactic by Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, in order to bend Smith’s camp at the knees?
We’ll find out. What we know for sure is that Harrison Smith will not be coming back to play for the Minnesota Vikings under his current cap number. Here’s a link to the new Mackey & Judd podcast episode, which just released about 15 minutes ago.
Entirely possible. Fluid situation. This we know: He won't be back on his current number.
