Twins to Meet With Carlos Correa in Coming Days

We’ve heard about the effort and confidence the Minnesota Twins are working with to re-sign their 2022 superstar shortstop, Carlos Correa. Even Byron Buxton has been campaigning for C4’s return. Still, you’ll be hard pressed to find an insider around baseball who believes the Twins will actually win his services.
But that won’t stop Derek Falvey, Thad Levine or new big shot caller, Joe Pohlad, from shooting their shot with Correa. According to Darren Wolfson (KSTP, SKOR North), the two parties plan to meet in person in the coming days.
The #MNTwins will also be meeting face-to-face with Correa in the coming days, I hear. https://t.co/FPfj1AqHZ8

Twins working hard to get Correa
Doogie’s latest scoop comes in response to a report from The Athletic that says the Philadelphia Phillies are also set to meet with Carlos Correa, along with the other three high caliber free agent shortstops available this offseason (Bogaerts, Swanson, Turner).
Scott Boras has a lot of clients who are currently sitting in free agency. The widely accepted belief among insiders is that he’d like to get two or three of them signed and off of his plate early. Clearly, his shortstop clients, Carlos Correa and Xander Bogaerts, are candidates to be those early signees.
Derek Falvey has told media that they would like to wrap the Carlos Correa situation in a bow sooner rather than later. Reports say they’re waiting for Correa to make a decision before moving onto the rest of their offseason checklist.
