Happy trade deadline day Twins fans! This is the place where you’ll get all your news and rumors throughout the day. I will be continuously updating this page every time a rumor or trade breaks involving the Minnesota Twins or really any big name.
So far today we have seen a couple rumors pop up, most notably this one from Jon Morosi…
He said the Twins would likely have to part with either Alex Kirilloff or Trevor Larnach to get a deal like this done. That will be tough for the Twins to do.
One of the biggest names on the market this season has been Mike Clevinger of the Cleveland Indians. It looks like he is headed to San Diego.
The Twins name has begun popping up once again around 1:30 PM CT. They are mentioned as a possible landing spot for Starling Marte, who is very likely to be traded.
Starling Marte has been excellent against left handed pitchers this season and that is a huge concern for the current Twins. He has a .920 OPS which is behind only Nelson Cruz. An outfield of Buxton, Kepler, Rosario, and Marte would be very exciting.
Well it was fun while it lasted… do something!
The trade deadline is here. The Twins did not make a single move which I think is a bad idea. They could have used a right handed bat (Marte), a reliever (many were dealt) or a starter like Bundy or Lynn. Instead, nothing.
Not ideal.
