Don’t Be Surprised if Byron Buxton Hits the Injured List Today
The Minnesota Twins continued a brutal stretch of play late Friday night, when they allowed a ten-piece to the Los Angeles California Angels of Anaheim (or whatever they’re called this year) and only squeezed three runs out of their own offense. The bats continue to struggle (especially with guys on base) and the Twins bullpen is in shambles (especially Randy Dobnak).
But that’s not even the worst of last night’s news. Before and after his team was whipped and toyed with by the LACAA for three hours like they were cast as the victim in a bad porno with way too much leather, Rocco Baldelli gave updates on centerfielder, Byron Buxton, who’s been the best player in baseball when on the field this season.
Buxton Update
Pregame, Baldelli said Byron Buxton is “on the borderline” of going to the injured list for what was originally diagnosed as a “tight hamstring. After the game (video), he said pretty much the same thing. So, brace for that today…
“But here’s the thing: We’re talking about a center fielder. We’re talking about a guy that runs like a gazelle,” Baldelli said. “โฆ To run like Buck, it’s impossible to do if you have a hamstring that’s not cooperating.”
“We’re probably right on like the borderline of what to really do, in which direction to go in,” Baldelli said. “โฆ I judge Buck sometimes by if he’s smiling or not, believe it or not, and he actually had a pretty good face on [Friday]. He looked good.”
