The Minnesota Timberwolves experienced an ascent like none other this past season. Forward Naz Reid was in the middle of that. His continued rise isn’t stopping any time soon. He will now grace the cover of a historic basketball periodical.
Minnesota Timberwolves Naz Reid gets SLAM cover
Anthony Edwards may be the most prolific young star across the entire NBA. Naz Reid may be the sport’s greatest cult hero. Known as “Two Words” by Minnesota Timberwolves fans, the NBA Sixth Man of the Year draws excitement each time he steps on the court. Promotions featuring his likeness have gone bonkers on the secondary market. Famous basketball magazine SLAM, put Reid on the current cover.

Naz Reid a focal point of Minnesota Timberwolves’ future
The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to take the next step in the season ahead. That would mean getting past the Western Conference finals and elevating themselves to the NBA Finals. Reid will be a sixth man of the year candidate once again. Outside discussion presented a possibility that big man Karl-Anthony Towns could be had. If that were to happen, Reid would likely find himself in the starting lineup.

Last season Reid played in 81 games while averaging a career-best 13.5 points per game. His 5.2 total rebounds per game were also a career-best. Minnesota signed Reid as an undrafted player out of LSU. Minnesota continues to benefit from that decision on a yearly basis. The Timberwolves extended Reid on a three-year contract worth nearly $42 million prior to last season.
Two Words remains an integral part of everything Chris Finch expects his team to accomplish in the year ahead.
