The Minnesota Timberwolves have had a few days off and the small break was well-timed, given the hip injury Anthony Edwards is battling through, after he fell hard to the ground trying to make a play at the rim a few games ago

Anthony Edwards expected back vs Spurs

News on Ant’s injury has been trending in the positive direction over the last couple of days. That was accelerated on Tuesday when head coach Chris Finch confirmed that he’s expecting Edwards to go on Wednesday vs the San Antonio Spurs.

The Wolves have won both games Ant wasn’t able to play in and the Spurs is one of the worst teams in the NBA. Still, Edwards has never been a fan of load management and, given tomorrow night’s game is on ESPN, wants to put on a show for the national audience and NBA awards voters who will surely be watching.

Other Minnesota Timberwolves injury updates

Jaden McDaniels is farther away from his return but he was seen shooting prior to Wolves practice on Tuesday, and continues to trend in the right direction. Probably still weeks before we see him in the lineup, rather than days.

We could see Jordan McLaughlin available sooner rather than later. He was back at practice yesterday, for the first time since knee surgery. It’s possible he could return before McDaniels does. At full depth, I’m not sure how much playing time McLaughlin would get.
