The Minnesota Timberwolves won last night against the Indiana Pacers, a gutty victory that featured a lot of Julius Randle, Jaden McDaniels, Rudy Gobert and even some Mike Conley. Really, the only way the Wolves stood a chance was if they got a “all hands on deck” performance from everyone not named Anthony Edwards.

And that’s because Ant lasted only a few minutes last night at Target Center, before he left the game with what was diagnosed shortly after as a hamstring strain. Ant Man has been more like a Man of Steel for the Wolves, since being selected No. 1 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Even when Edwards has left games in the past, due to injury — no matter how gruesome it has looked initially — he has somehow healed like Wolverine back in the MN Timberwolves locker room, just to emerge better than ever.

Minnesota Timberwolves will go without Anthony Edwards for two weeks

Unfortunately, that was not the case for Ant on Sunday, when he left the floor, only to return from the tunnel in street clothes and sunglasses. Then on Monday, we got more bad news… though it certainly could have been worse. According to Shams (ESPN), Edwards will miss two weeks as he recovers from his hamstring injury.

This almost feels surreal. Anthony Edwards has been such a staple of consistency and availability for the Minnesota Timberwolves, over the past half-decade. He plays sick, banged up, or otherwise — and very much believes in being available, when able. That’s not something many NBA stars can say in 2025-26.

But now a 2-1 Wolves will have to find a way to keep from stumbling out of the 2025-26 starting gates, while their lead wolf heals. Through two games, Anthony Edwards was averaging 36 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3 assists per night.
