Vikings Dominate Saints on Monday Night Football:

1st Quarter:

Each team moved the ball well in the 1st quarter but there wasn’t much scoring. The defenses would both have “bend but don’t break” drives and the quarter ended in a 3-3 tie.

2nd Quarter:

The Vikings caught fire in the 2nd quarter. I will let you relive the magic for yourself. This was Bradford all night long…… READ FULL RECAP

Conor Rhoda Named Gophers Starting QB by Fleck:

After Rhoda went 7-8 for 158 yards, and a TD, Fleck has seen enough to name him the starter. I like  Demry Croft but Fleck wants to go with the Senior, in hopes of ball-security and game-management. Fleck will rely mostly on his defense and running game to win games. Rhoda’s job will be not to lose them.

Jerry Kill Hospitalized After Seizure:

We were all hoping Jerry Kill’s seizure issues were behind him but he suffered a set back. Jerry hasn’t had the nicest things to say about the University of Minnesota or PJ Fleck since he and his old coaching staff departed campus. He was upset about the role he was offered in the school and left for Rutgers where he was eventually named a coordinator.

Hopefully Kill can return healthy because it is clear he doesn’t want to leave the game of football.

Reggie Lynch Minor Knee Surgery; “Out Probably 3 More Weeks” – Pitino:

Today Richard Pitino told us that Reggie Lynch had minor knee surgery on KFAN with Paul Allen and is expected to be off the court for a few more weeks. This came as bit of a surprise but doesn’t seem like much of a deal, fortunately. The Gophers don’t want to lose another front-court player or they could be in trouble.

Twins Back At Home vs Padres Tuesday:

The Twins are done with a recent road trip that went… OK. During the 7 game trip, they visited 2 teams that are trying to remain in the playoff race, the Rays and the Royals. They are coming home after a 3-4 showing with a 1 game lead over the Angels for that 2nd WC spot, after they won on Sunday.

The Padres and Blue Jays, who the Twins will face next, are a combined 24 games under .500. It is time for the Twins to make a run.

Kyle Gibson will try to continue being serviceable. He will get the start in game 1.

First Pitch: Tuesday at 7:10 PM
