Twins WIN Again @ Tigers and Stretch WC Lead to 4 Games:
The day started off well for the Twins when the Angels helped them out by losing before the Twins even played. The Twins’ bats, however, didn’t seem to want to get going once the game started. Until the 8th inning that is, when a ticking time bomb went off.
To set the table, the Twins were down 3-2 when they went to the top of the 8th inning. How did they get there? Well, it was an exciting first at-bat for this game:

The Angels got two of their runs in the 1st inning too. They would get their 2nd in the 6th.
Robbie Grossman would add to the lone run on the board, for the Twins, in the 7th with a single that scored Adrianza.
Then the top of the 8th inning came… There were so many big hits but I am having issues finding good videos for you so I will give you Granite’s home run and then see what else I can find on Sunday morning.

The Twins would get 8 more runs for a total of 10
Detroit would get a solo home run 9th to make it 10-4.
FINAL: 10-4 Twins WIN
The Twins will pick up and play again tomorrow at 11 AM and run right alongside the Vikings. Set your alarms. We will be flipping back and forth. They have at least earned that. They only have 7 games left in the season and they now hold a 4-game lead over the Rangers for that last wildcard spot.
Sunday Game Info: Noon – FSN – 11 AM – Detroit
Pitching Matchup: Jose Berrios (12-8, 3.94 ERA) vs Buck Farmer (4-4, 7.11 ERA)
Vikings vs Bucs Without Sam Bradford:
Sunday’s game will be a testament to what kind of team the Vikings have. By now, everyone knows Sam Bradford isn’t going to be under center. He is seeing Dr. James Andrews for his knee, which doesn’t seem to be getting any better.
Case Keenum isn’t a guy that is going to win you games but he is exactly the type of guy that normally will not lose you one. So, everyone else will need to step up. Dalvin Cook needs to have his best game yet and so do the wide-outs. But the biggest keys will be the offensive line and the defense.
If the offensive line can hold up and play well then Dalvin Cook will flourish and Keenum will have some time to make sure he makes the completions he should make. Again, we can’t rely on Keenum to….. READ MORE

Tommies Take Down Johnnies at Target Field:
The hype for this game was almost as real as the attendance. I’m not a Tommy or a Johnny (I’d really hate to see my student loan payment if I were). So I don’t care about it or have a rooting interest. But the atmosphere looked pretty cool.

Wild vs Avalanche in 3rd of 7 Preseason Games:
After Sunday, we will be over half done with the NHL Preseason. Dubnyk saw ice for the first time this season.
The Wild hosted Colorado Saturday and will turn around and play them in Colorado, on Sunday.
The Wild looked pretty good but its the preseason so we won’t take much from it.
Win for the @mnwild
Goals by Granlund and Zucker, 28 saves for Dubnyk and a perfect PK tonight.
