Karl-Anthony Towns Dunks on Report That He’ll Play Tonight

Shams Charania (The Athletic) is one of two noted and respected national NBA insiders who break news on Twitter daily. Today, one of his tweets broke that Karl Anthony Towns would be returning to the Minnesota Timberwolves lineup tonight vs the LA Clippers, after sitting out two weeks following a COVID diagnosis.

Cool, right? The Wolves lineup needs Karl-Anthony Towns more than an airplane needs wings. But, about an hour after that tweet from Shams, KAT logged in and tweeted, ‘not so fast my friend.’

I guess KAT isn’t sure he’s ready to go, yet. If Karl is feeling healthy and he’s passing all of the strict COVID protocol to return, I’m not sure how a shoot around would change that.

But, I’m not a doctor either…
