Twins vs Cleveland:
The bats came out firing early in this ever-so-important game for the Twins against Cleveland. TheY came out firing for both teams.
The Twins started the scoring. Dozier opened the game with a double. Then, was driven in after Mauer moved him to 3rd and Polanco scored him with a groundout. But the inning wasn’t over when Rosario came to the plate with 2 outs.

But the Indians would punch back in the bottom of the 1st with 2 runs of their own off of an Encarnacion single.
2-2 Tie After 1
There was more action in the 3rd inning. It was Eddie Rosario again. This time it was a double with Dozier and Mauer on 3rd and 2nd.
But the Indians would come back again in the bottom of that inning to tie the game back up.
4-4 Tie after 3
That would be the score for a few innings. But a Lindor SAC Fly in the 6th and an Encarnacion homer in the 7th would make it a 2-run game and it looked like the night might be a disappointing one. But then Brian Dozier came to the plate. He wasn’t having any of that.
Brian Dozier IS CLUTCH!!? 3-run shot, as the Twins lead 7-6 at that point, and eventually won 8-6? #MNTwins #WereGonna pic.twitter.com/2faWybFltV

And just like that, it was the Twins’ game to lose. But when you have Byron Buxton in centerfield, that is a little easier.

Buxton would then come to the plate in the top of the 9th and drive in a run on a base hit too. This guy is special. Belisle looked shaky but got the save. The magic number is down to 1 after the Angels just won tonight too.
FINAL: 8-6 Twins WIN
But that means a Twins’ win OR an Angels’ loss would be a playoff berth for the Twins. What a season.

Birds are flying into U.S. Bank Stadium and 99% of the Population Doesn’t Care:
This might be the most ridiculous story line in the entire Twin Cities. That’s saying something. Apparently, an estimated 500 birds have died by way of U.S. Bank Stadium over the last 3 years. I did the math. That is almost 167 birds/year. According to PBS’ own article, anywhere from 365 – 988 MILLION birds die each year by way of building collision…. Again, U.S. Bank Stadium will count for 167 of those. Stop it.
Bird Death toll via US Bank Stadium: 167
Bird Death Toll via USA Buildings: 988 MILLION

PJ Fleck Tight-lipped On Injuries; Might Have to Pull Redshirts Off:
It looks like the Gophers are losing some depth to season-long injuries. Fleck won’t say who but did say we might see the redshirt come off of true-freshman, Rey Estes, who played QB before being switched to DB about a month ago.
Fleck uses redshirts and injuries in a plural tense but only names Estes so we will be watching for other names to come up.
