Vikings Favorites vs Ravens Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium – Trap Game?:

All week-long the Vikings’ headlines have been on the quarterback situation; which one will play and who will come back first, between Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Bradford. But, there’s still a game to be played on Sunday at noon. It will still take place at U.S. Bank Stadium and the quarterback will still be backup, Case Keenum

The next two weeks set up perfectly for the Vikings to leave the rest of the season to whomever is healthy enough to take the job after the bye week. After the Vikings play the Ravens on Sunday, they will travel to Cleveland, before heading into a Week 9 bye. Both Baltimore and Cleveland bring up the ass of the AFC North. OK, Baltimore is in 2nd place in that terrible division but they aren’t the Baltimore team some remember.

Flacco has been REALLY bad. He has thrown for….

Gophers Get Ugly Homecoming Victory vs Illinois:

It was quite the start for Demry Croft. In his first B1G start of the year, he drove the ball down the field and easily completed a touchdown pass, leaving us to think we might have found something…. which we didn’t (keep reading) Who caught it? I bet if I let you guess once, you’d get it.

A 3-and-out later and it looked like we might be on our way to a blowout, just like Vegas predicted when they had the Gophers as favorites by 13.5 points. But, I had forgotten that Minnesota isn’t allowed to have nice things, like easy victories, to make a Saturday less stressful.

Wild Get Much Needed Victory @ Calgary:

The Wild went into Calgary last night needing a win about as badly as a team can need one, this early in the season. A bevy of injuries has set them back in a way I’m not sure anyone saw coming. But, you get 82 games for a reason. The Wild will get healthier eventually and the reinforcements will come.

Until then, this team is good enough to float around playoff contention. Say what you want about Fletcher but the Wild are built with depth and experience. Having goalie play like they got last night, especially early on, always helps. On the latter end of a back-to-back, it was Alex Stalock who got his turn in between the pipes.

He dazzled. This is just one example:

The Wild got on the board first. It took a two-man advantage and more Chris Stewart magic but we will take it. Stewart now has 6 goals (8 pts) on the season, in just 6 games. What an incredible run. It helps to play with Zucker and Koivu who would probably make anyone better. But the run Stewart has been on to start the season, has been incredible.

Calgary’s first goal was a rare mistake by Ryan Suter, who had issues controlling the puck in the corner, allowing for Monahan’s goal. Everyone makes mistakes but we need Suter to be better than this. The Flames also got the 2nd goal off of a power play and it looked like this might be a season for the Wild, that you can compare to the 2010 Vikings…

Jimmy Butler Tells Security: No Ricky Rubio in Locker Room Post-Game:

So, in case you missed it last night (or ICYMI as all the cool kids would say) Ricky Rubio was flopping all over Target Center. Tyus Jones got a bullshit technical foul called on him because of one.

Well, shortly after that incident, this happened, and it forced some Minnesotans to decide if they are really all-in on the future or if they are still stuck in the Timberwolves past. If you were hoping Jimmy Butler and Ricky Rubio were going to like each-other for future Timberwolves’ Hall of Fame events, you’re going to be disappointed….
