Twins @ Tigers as We Near Finish Line:
TWINS WIN TWINS WIN TWINS WIN!!!!!
The Twins found their bats tonight in Detroit and it was SPECTACULAR! So many hitters had big nights and the team collected 10 walks total.
Top performers:
Joe Mauer is on fire. I’m not sure where he found a time machine but he might as well be racing for MVP in 2009. And this season doesn’t end with a $180 Million contract.
The Twins WIN 12-1
Why don’t you just sit back and enjoy this one. And follow @ParkerHageman on Twitter.

Now, the Twins sit 2.5 games ahead of the Angels and Rangers for the 2nd Wildcard, and the right to play the Yankees in a one-game playoff, to advance to the divisional round.
Friday, the Twins will play Detroit in the 2nd of a 4-game set. They need to take advantage of these games. 6 of their last 9 are against the Tigers BUT the other 3 are vs the Indians, who have won 27 of their last 28………
Game Info: FSN – 6:10 PM
Matchup:
Kyle Gibson (11-10, 5.07 ERA) vs Daniel Norris (4-7, 5.38 ERA)
Daily Sam Bradford Update:
Sam Bradford looked a little better in practice today than he did yesterday. This is some good news. But I am still very skeptical…
“We’ve limited him,” head coach Mike Zimmer said, adding he feels better about Bradford’s chances to play Sunday against the Buccaneers than he did the day before.
We literally know nothing else…. Here is a video that shows us nothing…

Timberwolves add to Backcourt; Sign Aaron Brooks:
The Wolves made another move today. In signing Aaron Brooks to a veteran-minimum deal, the Wolves were able to lock up a guard who has been around and can immediately contribute to the team…. especially on defense.
The signing raises one major question:
Who should be the backup point guard? #WOLVES

Too bad we can’t sub in on defense and offense… Aarty Brones would be one hell of a 2-way player…
PFF Gets Even Stat-Heads to Double-Take at NFL CB Ratings:
#29: Mackensie Alexander
#43: Terance Newman
#81: Xavier Rhodes
#87: Trae Waynes
Someone PLEASE ask Mike Zimmer how he feels about @PFF‘s CB rankings after week 2… PLEASE. https://t.co/LqKNqDYTJq pic.twitter.com/RZSMDBmmlT

I knew Mackensie Alexander played well but I didn’t think he played this well. Also, Xavier just shut down Antonio Brown last week. Maybe they just forgot about him until they got into the 80’s?
If you throw Rhodes in ahead of Alexander then I might not disagree much with this.
Eden Prairie DB, and Gopher Commit, Benny Sapp III Out for Season:
It is the knee… Benny Sapp has already battled through two knee surgeries in his left knee. Now he is having more problems. According to this piece by David La Vaque of the Star Tribune, it is NOT related to the ACL injuries that have plagued that left knee in the past.
Sapp is having surgery to clean up cartilage and will be out the rest of the season.
“He said, ‘My knee feels weird,’ ” Grant said. “I was thinking that it was nothing but then the trainer came over. Then the doctor. Then his dad. I feel sick for him. He’s a great player and a better person. He’s devastated; he feels like he let the team down.”
“It’s the best possible outcome for him even if it’s the worst possible outcome for us,” Grant said. “Leaving cartilage in a 17-year-old’s knee is a good thing.”
Sapp was recruited from every top college school when he was a Freshman in Florida. Two ACL surgeries later and Sapp was on his way to Eden Prairie to finish his high school career. He is one of Fleck’s top recruits in his inaugural class of 2018.
Let’s all hope Benny’s surgery goes well and he comes back to have a great career as a Gopher.
