On September 18th, the Minnesota Vikings signed Dalton Risner to a one-year contract, strengthening their offensive line and adding a powerful asset to the offensive side of the ball. His signing also allowed GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to flip fellow lineman Ezra (great name) Cleveland for a late-round draft pick at the trade deadline.

Confirmed: Whitney and Dalton Risner love Minnesota

Dalton’s wife, Whitney Risner (who was mic’d up by the Vikings in Denver for their week 11 matchup vs the Broncos), can confirm her family’s patience is already paying dividends.

In a video shared by the team on social media, Whitney tells an inquiring fan sitting near her just how much the Risners love living in Minnesota. She and her family are starting to get used to how many Vikings fans show up at away games.

You can hear a surprised Broncos fan asking Whitney, “What are all these Viking people doing here?” To which she replies, “The Vikings fans, they travel well.” Later in the video, when asked about living in Minnesota, Whitney enthusiastically replies, “I love it, it’s fantastic, the culture there is incredible.”

Remember, her 28-year-old husband played the first four years of his NFL career in Denver. It was their home since leaving Kansas State University together, where he (a football player) and she (a basketball player) first met.

Whitney Risner is an avid TikTok content creator, with over 1.1 million followers. No wonder why Dalton wasn’t in a big hurry to find a new job this fall. His hunny was already bringing home plenty of bacon.

It took Risner a quarter of the NFL season before signing with a team because he wanted to wait as long as possible for the Vikings to realize they needed him. He’s gone on the record saying he was on his way to sign with another team when he told his agent to call and warn the Vikings before it was too late.

Risner, who has been playing really well, is only under contract through the rest of this season. But with Ezra Cleveland now out of the picture, there’s a pretty good chance we see the Vikings’ new fan favorite o-lineman back in purple for 2024.
